As much as the UFO sightings have been debunked, there still are 701 unsolved sightings. Considering what a violent world we live in, are we surprised that no other entity has decided to land here and give us a “howdy”? It is hard to believe that we are the only living beings in the Universe. But that is a philosophical argument. For now, I give you “the vault.” Here we go:
Flying saucer sightings? Reports of three-foot-tall aliens? Secret memos about suspicious objects recovered near Roswell, N.M.?
They’re all included in the thousands of declassified government documents posted to the FBI’s new online “Vault.”
Earlier this month, the FBI announced its revamped online reading room that contains more than 2,000 government files. While the documents had been previously available to the public, not all had been digitized and easily searchable online.
Last month, the British government opened up its own real-life X-files, which included thousands of pages of UFO-related documentation. And, at the time, UFO supporters said they believed the U.S. should follow suit.
Greenewald spent 20 years requesting and then collecting, collating and studying the documents. Though the papers had been declassified years ago, they were not easily accessible by the public.

Something strange in the skies.
UFO sightings caught on tape.
After the infamous alleged alien landing in Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, the US Air Force investigated 12,618 sightings from 1947 to 1969.
The cases were known as Project Blue Book and made up the bulk of Greenewald’s document dump.
“The military and the government want you to believe there’s nothing to this topic,” he said.
Most sightings were, in fact, debunked — including a sighting in 1965 at the World’s Fair later that was called “a photographic anomaly” — but 701 cases remain not fully explained in the papers.
