Religions Can’t Save You

The following is an excerpt from my new book. (Religions Can’t Save You)

‘Religion can’t save you’
And God said let there be light and there was light; and God saw that the light was good and God separated the light from the darkness but many fled from the light for they loved the darkness. Yet, the darkness is chaos and confusion and the light unto the world brought salvation. Those who came to the light were called children of light, children of God–Jesus is the light unto the world. When Peter was sinking into the sea he called out, “Master, save me…” and Jesus reached down and pulled him from the depth of the darkness. Soon the light will be removed from the earth and those who love the darkness will remain in confusion and chaos. For them there is no hope but for those who come to the light there is eternal life.

The Light unto the world is the son of the living God, even Jesus, He is the one who overcomes the darkness; He is the one who restores us to Eternal Life. He is the ‘Tree of Life’ in the Garden of Eden’. When David wrote his psalm,# 23 He said, “The Lord is my shepherd; He restores my soul…” This is not a coincidence; Jesus restored us to the tree of life but we must enter the garden to get to it. We must enter the Kingdom of Heaven to partake of that eternal life given us by Jesus. We do that by denying the world and turning our lives around 180 degrees. We must give up our worldly desires, our worldly lusts and our worldly quests. We must seek the face of God and the only way that is possible is by coming to Christ.
When God created Adam and Eve He placed them in a garden, the Garden of Eden. He commissioned them to not eat of the tree in the center of the garden, ‘the tree of knowledge of good and evil’. Adam willfully chose to eat of the fruit of that tree; he committed the act of choosing the way of the flesh over the way of the Spirit. Subsequently, both he, Eve and all his children lost eternal life and the their right to live in the Spirit of God; they were literally kicked out of the garden. 4,000 years later Jesus came to restore us to that life in the garden and restore us to eternal life in the Spirit. None of this is accidental; God has a plan for each of us who belong to Him. By accepting the gift of life offered by Christ we must deny completely the will of the flesh, turn our lives over to Him and enter His kingdom.
The world is run by evil forces, many of which are religions. If your religion offers you anything according to the flesh, it is a false religion. No flesh and blood shall enter the Kingdom of God. Soon, darkness will cover the surface of the deep and those who are not of the light of Christ will wander around in that darkness in a state of chaos and confusion. They will be lost. Jesus said,” Darkness comes soon and no one can work in the night…” The ruler of the night is Satan and he destroys all those who listen to him. Look around you at the world and your friends and tell yourself they are not living in the world of flesh. People today live for what they can get and devour; what they can rob or steal from their neighbor, or get free from the government. Today, they seek fame and fortune; they hunger and thirst for gold and live for greed and self-gratification. The Bible tells us ‘the whole head is sick,’ and Jesus tells us to “…come out of her my children…” He wasn’t just talking to those who belong to the little harlot who sits on many waters; He was also telling us to come out of the world of the flesh and join Him in the world of the Spirit. As long as He tarries, it is not too late.
