Syria attack part of Netanyahu’s tactic ahead of upcoming elections – YouTube
Yoav Galant, a leading candidate in Kulanu party’s Knesset list, said the killing of Jihad Mughniyeh has been timed to help Netanyahu in the elections. He referred to similar past events, noting that the timing of attacks isn’t unrelated to politics in Israel. Galant recalled the assassination of Hamas official, Ahmed Jaabari, in November 2012, which was carried out shortly before Israel’s January 2013 elections.
Funeral held for senoir Hezbollah fighter Jihad Mughniyeh
Funeral procession has been held for senior Hezbollah fighter Jihad Mughniyeh who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Syria’s Golan Heights on Sunday.
Jihad was laid to rest in Beirut’s southern suburbs. He was the son of Hezbollah’s slain military commander Imad Mughniyeh who was assassinated in an Israeli-orchestrated bombing back in 2008. Jihad and five more Hezbollah fighters were killed, after an Israeli helicopter fired two missiles at their vehicle in the Syrian village of Qunaytirah. A commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps was also killed in the attack. The IRGC has confirmed the death of Brigadier General Mohammad Ali-Allahdadi. It says, Israel’s violation of Syria’s airspace has once again showed that the ISIL and other Takfiri groups are collaborating with Washington and Tel Aviv, against Muslim Ummah.
FM Zarif denounces Israeli strike against Hezbollah
Iran has condemned the Israeli strike in the Syrian Golan Heights which left six Hezbollah fighters dead on Sunday. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has told Press TV that state terrorism is a well-known Israeli policy.
