He is loud, tacky, garish, disingenuous, malicious, mobbed-up, preys on his country like an intestinal parasite, is hateful to those with whom he disagrees and believes he is utterly exempt from the law. He is VEGAS, BABY!!!! If you scratch his back, he’ll be your sugar daddy. He’ll hook you up with an EB-5 and jump you right to the front of the line to get into the Good Old, US of A!
You see, a group of Asian investors took over what was formerly known as The Sahara Casino and promised to fund a major renovation to the property so that it could reopen as the SLS Hotel. The hitch was that these investors, two-dozen of them; required visas to come to the United States. DHS initially turned them down. They placed a call to Good, Old Uncle Harry. Uncle Harry explained the following to the DHS.
“As you can imagine this project is pretty important to Southern Nevada. It will probably be the only ‘new’ property opening up on the Strip for some time, and if their $300 million senior lending facility from JP Morgan Chase expires because these visas aren’t processed expeditiously, it will be a huge setback for the project and the 8,600 jobs associated with it,” Michael Vannozzi, then a top aide to Mr. Reid, wrote Homeland Security officials at one point.
Soon after the Senate Majority Leader began to crank up the pressure cooker. DHS officials were harassed and berated by the Reid Senate Office.
“This one is going to be a major headache for us all because Sen. Reid’s office/staff is pushing hard and I just had a long yelling match on the phone,” USCIS Legislative Affairs official Miguel “Mike” Rodriguez warned in a Dec. 5, 2012, email to Homeland Security Department officials.
Soon after that, Reid’s having acted like a totally corrupt butt-hole paid dividends for his rich investor buddies who have contributed over $127,000 to the Democratic Party. The initial rejection of the visas was reversed. JP Morgan funded the venture. Reid got his bankrollers safely installed in the US.
In Los Angeles, California a shipping firm with Iranian ties called American Logistics, has recently been investigated by agents of the DHS. They served American Logistics with a warrant to investigate whether they were connected with another firm Total Transportation Concepts which has suspected ties to an Iranian terrorist network. The DHS advised against giving certain employees of American Logistics EB-5 Visas and wrote a memo which stated the following:
“concerns that this particular visa program may be abused by Iranian operatives to infiltrate the United States.” It says that as early as 2010, immigration officials began receiving warnings about a group of individuals who may be trying to “facilitate terrorism” and be “involved in an illicit procurement network that exports items to Iran for use by secret Iranian government agencies.”
American Logistics and SLS Hotel are hardly the only groups using this program to pull strings. Another DHS memorandum describes the concerns voiced by DHS agents:
“USCIS has since found a number of links between EB-5 sponsors, businesses, principals, and associated addresses, with the subjects of other [ongoing federal law enforcement] investigations,”

This is not getting due attention from our leaders and our declared candidates for 2016. The closest thing I’ve heard to reassurance on this is a rather vague statement by Gov. Scott Walker that border security should be the first priority. We know what Green Card Harry and the Dems will do with this. The challenge and the only positive hope for a closing of this loophole is for the GOP to step up. Who’s ready to do so?…..
