▶ Iran FM: Saudi-led aggression against Yemen serves interests of al-Qaeda, ISIL, Takfiris – YouTube
Iran says the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen is serving the interests of al-Qaeda, ISIL and the Takfiri groups.
Iranian
foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also warned regional and western
countries not to be part of such un-thoughtful games. Zarif said Iran
has been calling for talks between opposing sides in Yemen since the
beginning of the conflict. He said this is the only way to resolve
issues in the country. Zarif made the comments on the sidelines of
nuclear talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne. Earlier, Iran’s foreign
ministry spokeswoman, Marzieh Afkham condemned the Saudi-led attacks on
Yemen, saying such assaults would expand terrorism and insecurity in the
region. Meanwhile, Russia has expressed its deep concern over the
situation in Yemen, but said it has no plans to evacuate its citizens
from the Arab country.
Oil prices rise after Saudi-led invasion of Yemen
Meanwhile, oil prices have surged following the Saudi-led invasion of Yemen.
US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for May delivery rose more than two dollars to 51.49 dollars. Also, Brent crude for May gained nearly 2.5 dollars to 58.94 dollars. The recent crude price surge comes amid fears that violence in Yemen could spread to oil producing countries in the region including neighboring Saudi Arabia.
