NATO moving closer to Russia: Russian Defense Ministry

The Russian Defense Ministry is warning that NATO is using the crisis in Ukraine to move closer to Russia’s borders.
Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov says NATO member states are using the situation in Ukraine as a pretext to violate diplomatic conventions and push towards Russia. He noted that the alliance’s activities have drastically expanded over the past years. The deputy defense minister said the NATO deployment is completely out of proportion with what NATO commanders call the build-up of Russian forces near Ukraine. The West and Russia have been locked in a bitter dispute over Ukraine over the past year. The dispute is seen as a reflection of a tug of war between the two sides.
