In a nuclear attack, particularly if you are the epicenter of the strike, you’d be incinerated. No pain. With an EMP the nation would lose all power… for just about everything. Government would have some limited sources that were shielded, but the rest of us are on our own. That means there would be no medical equipment in hospitals, no means to make Rx drugs any longer, and forget transportation to escape the chaos! Transportation would be fully down because there would be no way to get gas from the tanks underground to a vehicle or storage container without the electrical pumps working. How safe would kids be who are trapped in schools? It would not take long for teachers to realize if they stay they are vulnerable to attack by looters and rioters. I’m not saying I agree with it, but many would leave the kids to save their own hides. It’s just human nature. Furthermore, all communication would be down, there might be very very limited access to the one thing the human body MUST have: water. Anything not coming from a well is not moving from the water stations without the pumps. Speaking of water, there are all the water borne diseases, all the food that would rot, and the social chose that would follow.

WIKIPEDIA DEFINES AN ‘EMP’ AS: An electromagnetic pulse (EMP), also sometimes called a transient electromagnetic disturbance, is a short burst of electromagnetic energy. Such a pulse may occur in the form of a radiated electric or magnetic field or conducted electrical current depending on the source, and may be natural or man-made. The term “electromagnetic pulse” is commonly abbreviated to the acronym EMP (which is pronounced by saying the letters separately, “E-M-P”).
EMP interference is generally damaging to electronic equipment, and at higher energy levels a powerful EMP event such as a lightning strike can damage physical objects such as buildings and aircraft structures. The management of EMP effects is an important branch of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineering.
A SUBSET OF EMP’s ARE NUCLEAR (NEMP) AND HIGH ALTITUDE (HEMP)
NEMP is the abrupt pulse of electromagnetic radiation resulting from a nuclear explosion. The resulting rapidly changing electric fields and magnetic fields may couple with electrical/electronic systems to produce damaging current and voltage surges.
In military terminology, a nuclear warhead detonated hundreds of kilometers above the Earth’s surface is known as a high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) device. Typically the HEMP device produces the EMP as its primary damage mechanism. The nuclear device does this by producing gamma rays, which in turn are converted into EMP in the mid-stratosphere over a wide area within line of sight to the detonation.
NEMP weapons are designed to maximize such effects, especially on electronic systems, and are capable of destroying susceptible electronic equipment over a wide area. The popular media often depict such EMP effects incorrectly, causing misunderstandings among the public and even professionals, and official efforts have been made in the USA to set the record straight.
The last several posts dealing with gasping economies leading to world wars should have rattled your cage a bit if you actually READ them. Very few people have any idea what is going on, or what is coming. That’s just going to make panic set in even worse when it happens. In addition to those threats and the always looming “traditional” military threats, EMP threats have evolved as a new MAJOR source of concern. It is still believed in several military circles including the one in which highly decorated military General McInerny travels, the missing Malaysian Flight 370 made it to a landing site where it will be used at a later date, POSSIBLY AS THE CARRIER DEVICE FOR AN EMP WEAPON. DICK CHENEY HAS ALSO GONE ON RECORD SAYING A DEVASTATING EMP ATTACK COULD BE THE END OF CIVILIZATION. These are VERY serious weapons.
Before discussing the possibility of Iran using an EMP on the United States, I thought the following in depth description from Dave Hodges of the Common Sense Show about what actually transpires after an EMP has been detonated would be beneficial. There are a lot of rumors floating around about what an EMP could or would do if detonated. Let’ s make one things abundantly clear:

Attacking America at Its Weakest Point
Last night, I interviewed Bob Fletcher and we discussed the recent computer hacking against SONY, thus forcing the withdrawal of the movie, The Interview. Fletcher has concluded that there is a significant danger to America from North Korean hackers far beyond the disruption of our movie-going experience. In the last 48 hours, I have been contacted by Paul Martin as well as one of my most reliable military sources and their message reflects the same content as Fletcher’s conclusion, namely, North Korea is preparing to launch a massive attack against the United States and the attack will take one of two forms: (1) the generation of an EMP attack upon our power grid; and, (2) an attack upon selected nuclear power plants, thus causing multiple Fukushima’s at the same time. Undoubtedly, you are going to hear these same warnings repeated across the country. In a similar vein, Martin informed me that various aspects of the military are preparing for an anticipated attack in the first two weeks of January. My military source did not provide any dates, but did clearly state that key military assets and are being moved or shielded.
The Most Devastating Delivery Method of a HEMP
Traditionally, most experts agree that the most effective delivery method for a nation-wide EMP, or HEMP attack would be the Club-K Container Missile System. In its advertised versions, it is designed for launching four or six cruise missiles; It could obviously be converted for a long-range ballistic missile. A Scud-D ballistic missile would fit quite easily into this container as well. These delivery devices would be readily available on the open market and a cargo ship could be rigged to launch such missiles.
I have publicly heard Congressman Trent Franks speak to the fact that an EMP attack would likely consist of two high-altitude nuclear explosions over the mid-continental United States. The resulting EMP, or HEMP to be more accurate, would TAKE OUT THE POWER GRID. Since I heard the Franks warning, I have also learned that sophisticated computer hackers, like the ones from North Korea, have the ability to generate such an effect on our power grid by simultaneously hacking into our power grid and, in effect, generating a localized EMP attack. The effect would be almost as devastating in terms of the effects of such an attack on local utilities, especially for the providers of our power and water entities.
As as part of the November 2013 Grid EX II drill, which simulated an EMP attack upon the United States, Russia and China, are most formidable enemies, were invited to attend. Who would sanction such lunacy in which we showed them how to take down our grid? And then I remembered the ubiquitous actions of our current President towards the American people. In other words, Obama gave the Russians and the Chinese the knowledge on how to effect a grid takedown. Of course, who could forget when outgoing DHS director, Janet Napolitano, stated in her August 2013 farewell address that it is not a matter of if but when such an attack will occur.
Our Power Grid Is Very Vulnerable
Our power grid is susceptible to hurricanes, flooding, lightening strikes and Corona Mass Ejections (CMEs). The grid is also vulnerable to Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). Dr. John Casti, author of the book, X Events The Collapse of Everything states that EMP is only something that we have known about since the 1950’s when the United States detonated nuclear weapons in above-ground testing in the South Pacific. When one sets off a nuclear weapon, a pulse is emitted which “short circuits” all electronics and permanently damages them.
The Heritage Foundation has detailed many of the effects of an EMP attack and they coincide with Casti’s and many other accounts on the subject.
A Cross-Section of Effects of a Power Grid Takedown
Nearly all of the commercial sector is not protected. Most data backups of commercial systems are protected from just about every other threat, but not protected against EMP; and most data backups are located within the area likely to be affected by the EMP attack. Computer systems and the information they contain are especially vulnerable. As stated in the first episode of the old Dark Angel television series, ” . . . the electromagnetic pulse turned all the ones and zeros into plain old zeros . . .”
An EMP attack would literally send thousands of small and mid-sized businesses in the United States into bankruptcy in less than a millisecond. Other than your printed statements, the banks would have no records of your ledger sheet.
Hospitals
In the event of an EMP attack, America would see catastrophic conditions immediately take place in our hospitals and convalescent centers. Within a few days, old age homes would lack the resources and services of the staff to help preserve the lives of those who are virtually helpless. Patients on the operating table would stand a good chance of not surviving. Hospital backup generating systems would be rendered unusable. Food and water would become a scarce resource. Many hospital personnel would walk off the job by the beginning of the third day. The only medical personnel that would stay would be those that live too far away from home to walk. People would not be able to get their life-sustaining medications and services, most of which are electrically powered. Our worst fears would be realized.
Transportation
In one of the most dramatic effects, airplanes would fall from the skies. Untold thousands of people would immediately be plunged to their deaths. And their deaths might be considered merciful compared to the fate that the majority of the rest of us would face over the next two years. Most automobiles will not work unless they have all pre-electrical parts. Even then how long would gasoline be available? Many people on the various subways, would be hopelessly trapped depending on the time that an electromagnetic pulse would be released. And we can all be sure, that the release of an EMP, through false flag planning, would occur at the optimal time to ensure the maximum loss of life.
Schools and Children
One of the most tragic developments arising from an EMP attack with the fate of schoolchildren geographically isolated from their parents who have already commuted to work. Reuniting parents and their children would be next to impossible for the majority of Americans who have a 30 minute commute or more to work (20 miles). In an earlier article this year, I identified and detailed the questionnaire which went out to all school personnel which was inventorying staff school individual skill sets such as law enforcement experience, construction as well electrical and engineering talents. Sounds like a strange set of skills to be surveying at our public schools. What do the originators of this document know that the rest of us should?
If you were a teacher, how long would you stay on the job and ignore the welfare of your family? Getting home and reuniting with family will be problematic.

No kidding. EMP weapons are nuclear weapons, exploded at high altitude.
Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon. Iran doesn’t want a nuclear weapon. That’s why they chose to sign the non-proliferation treaty. That’s a pledge not to acquire nuclear weapons.
Iran chose -by signing that treaty- to have UN inspectors account for every speck of its reactor fuel.
Israel has been lying about Iran the way Israel lied about Iraq. Israel bombed Iraq in 1981 on the pretext that there was a secret nuclear weapons program there, and that it was a threat to Israel.

If Iran wanted a nuclear bomb, they could withdraw from the treaty and build one. They don’t want one.
