Saudi Arabia’s King Salman says the ongoing military intervention in
Yemen led by his country will continue until its goals are achieved.
Salman was speaking at the opening session of an Arab summit in Egypt’s
Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. Yemen’s fugitive former president Abd
Rabbu Mansour Hadi also addressed the summit. He accused Ansarullah of
occupying parts of Yemen, and called for the intervention to continue
against them.

Also attending the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, U-N
chief Ban Ki-moon urged Arab states to resolve the conflict in Yemen
peacefully. Ban said the aggression is taking a toll on Yemen’s
population which has already faced many sufferings. Saudi Arabia has
launched aerial attacks against Yemen without a U-N mandate. The
airstrikes have hit different parts of Yemen since they began on
Wednesday night. Dozens of people have been killed. Fresh casualties
have been reported in the latest Saudi attack that targeted a gas
company in the northern city of Sa’ada.
