(Before It's News)

Back after Mitt Romney’s loss in 2012, I documented the incestuous bleeding within the Republican Party. The Blackrock Group, which tries to always win even when its candidates lose, featured prominently in that. It is a group that has made lots of money off political campaigns in various ways I would not be comfortable with were I a candidate near them.

Now comes word that Black Rock Group, which is tied to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. Mitch McConnell67%Senate Republican Average29See Full Scorecard67%‘s leadership PAC, Senate Leadership Fund, has been connected to attack against against McConnell’s fellow Kentucky Senator Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. Rand Paul93%Senate Republican Average29See Full Scorecard93%.

Hello? Anyone remember Jamestown?

McConnell blacklisted Jamestown Associates and said it was because Jamestown helped the Senate Conservatives Fund oppose incumbents. He also pressured conservative senators to disavow the Senate Conservatives Fund because it opposes incumbents.

McConnell is now not going to blacklist Black Rock for opposing Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. Rand Paul93%Senate Republican Average29See Full Scorecard93%, an incumbent. Instead, he’s going to continue to support his super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, which is paying Black Rock.

So why the double standard? Why is okay for Black Rock and the Senate Leadership Fund to run ads against Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)Heritage ActionScorecardSen. Rand Paul93%Senate Republican Average29See Full Scorecard93%, an incumbent, but it’s not okay for Jamestown and the Senate Conservatives Fund to run ads against RINOs?

The answer is simple. McConnell’s blacklisting of Senate Conservatives Fund and Jamestown was never about protecting Republicans. It was always about protecting himself. Jamestown and the Senate Conservatives Fund are threat to him. Black Rock is not. Black Rock is helping his super PAC.

Maybe instead of being a two-faced hypocrite on these groups, McConnell should either blackball Black Rock Group, or stop harassing candidates who use Jamestown.
