Just two days after delivering President Obama a stinging rebuke, enough Senate Democrats agreed to back fast track trade legislation to get it past the 60-vote threshold needed to begin debate.
Debate could continue until the end of this month or even until June, as amendments are brought up. But the legislation has now passed a key test signaling the true struggle will be in the House, as had been originally expected.
