Your Best Chance to Protect the Unborn

(Before It's News)

Fellow Conservative,

Here’s a statistic: more Americans have been killed from abortion than were alive in the United States in 1890.

Data from the 1890 Census shows that 50,189,209 people lived in the United States. According to the Guttmacher Institute, there have been 51,376,750 abortions performed since 1973. Imagine how many Mozarts, Einsteins, and Michelangelos have been lost to abortion in this country.

When the Supreme Court issued its contentious Roe v Wade decision, it went out of its way to place limits on abortion. According to the court, a child could only be aborted up until the “point of viability.”

In 1973, the point of viability was understood to be 7 months, or 28 weeks, but the court admitted that viability could come as early as 24 weeks.

None of the justices on the bench held medical degrees. They’re definition of viability was based on 1973 medicine.

Well, guess what. We’ve entered the 21st Century. A child born 24 weeks back in 1973 would have been given a death sentence. However, today, children can survive after being born as early as 21 weeks.

At 20 weeks, unborn children are able to feel pain.

Why am I giving you all of these statistics? The House of Representatives passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This legislation bans abortion nationwide after the fifth month of pregnancy.

The House delivered the bill to the Senate and… nothing. They haven’t even held a committee hearing on it!

Tell Congress that you DEMAND they pass the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act immediately!

If there were a magic solution to ending abortion all together, I would jump at the chance. But right now, the number one way to protect the unborn is to get this bill through the Senate.

I disagree with the Roe v. Wade as much as anybody, but the viability restriction gives us the best chance of scaling back abortion in this country. In 1973, the point of viability was understood to be 28 weeks.

Today, there are elementary school children who were born at 21 weeks. Who knows what technology will allow for in the future.

Shouldn’t they be protected? Shouldn’t we do everything in our power to protect them?

I’m sorry, but after 5 months, it is simply unconscionable to allow an abortionist to dismember a child capable of feeling pain.

Actually, do you know what? I’m not sorry for anything. I have nothing to apologize for. Every day, children are aborted who, if born alive, could have the chance to live full and healthy lives. Yet, instead of being put up for adoption, they are murdered in the womb.

This legislation will save thousands of children every year and give them the opportunity to grow up and have children of their own. I can’t think of a more worthwhile cause and I implore you to raise your voice right now and demand that this legislation be passed.

Unborn children deserve a chance to live! Demand that Congress outlaw late-term abortion once and for all!

Sincerely,

Max McGuire
