Rachel Dolezal is not only a local NAACP leader, but she also got a scholarship to Howard University, a historically African-American college. Her parents say, “eyes were popping and jaws were dropping when she walked in to finalize her registration.” But they also say Dolezal wasn’t misrepresenting herself at that point because she wasn’t asked to distinguish her race on the application.Lawrence and Ruthanne Dolezal told CNN their daughter began to “fake” being black later and they’re very unhappy about it.
