In the video below, you’ll learn that the feds at The US National Institute of Standards and Technology, or NIST, just held something called the Tattoo Recognition Technology Challenge Workshop. They invited computer scientists to come work on new algorithms for law enforcement to use so that they can identify people from afar by their tattoos. Would you believe me if I told you law enforcement agencies have even developed phone apps that can quickly recognize a tattoo and link it to a person?
