The battle over funding New Hampshire government and state services is likely to stretch on for months, as both Democrats and Republicans dug in their heels Wednesday over business tax cuts included in the $11.3 billion budget.
The Republican-led Legislature passed both the two-year budget plan and a six-month spending plan after hours of debate. The short-term plan will ensure the government stays open July 1 if Gov. Maggie Hassan vetoes the budget as she has said she would.
