Fellow Conservative,
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) might be a RINO and he might be polling last in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination, but he just introduced the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act into the United States Senate!
As you’ll remember, this legislation would ban almost all abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy. Why 20-weeks? Well, that is the point that unborn children start to feel pain in-utero. Considering that many abortion procedures after this point rely on fetal dismemberment, protecting these unborn children must be a top priority.
Look at it this way: if a surgeon wants to perform surgery on a 20-week old child in the womb, he or she must administer anesthesia. Otherwise, the surgery would be unethical.
But if that same surgeon was performing an abortion, all rules go out the window.
It has been almost a month since the House of Representatives passed this common-sense legislation. The fact that it took this long for a Senator to introduce the legislation in the upper chamber is not a good sign. But there is still hope!
You were instrumental in getting this bill through the House. Together, we sent over 100,000 faxes demanding that the rights of the unborn be protected. I am asking you to answer the call again and DEMAND that the Senate do the same!
In 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that abortions after 28 weeks could be banned. They decided that 28 weeks, or seven months, was the “point of viability.”
Well, over the past 4 decades, science and medicine have advanced to the point that the point of viability is now sooner. Today, there are elementary school children who were born at 21 weeks. Who knows what technology will allow for in the future.
Shouldn’t they be protected? Shouldn’t we do everything in our power to ensure that the weakest among us (the unborn) are protected?
I’m sorry, but after 5 months, it is simply unconscionable to allow an abortionist to dismember a child capable of feeling pain. That’s what abortionists are advocating. They want the right to continue dismembering these innocent children.
Actually, scratch that. I retract that. I’m not sorry about anything. I have nothing to apologize for. Every day, there are children aborted who, if born alive, could have the chance to live full and healthy lives.
Instead of being given the chance to live, they are murdered in the womb.
This legislation will save thousands of children every year and give them the opportunity to grow up and have children of their own.
I can’t think of a more worthwhile cause and I implore you to raise your voice right now and demand that this legislation be passed.
Sincerely,
Max McGuire
