▶ Turkey’s ruling AK party facing challenges to form new government – YouTube
The day after elections is usually a day for bargaining over the next government. But in Turkey, the ruling AK party is facing challenges to form a new cabinet after losing its majority at the parliament. With a voter turnout of 85-point-five percent and almost all ballots counted, the Justice and Development Party led by Prime Minister Ahmed Davutuglu has secured 41 percent of the vote. The Republican People’s Party C-H-P came second with 25 percent. The opposition Nationalist Movement Party and the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party won 16-point-five and 13 percent respectively. M-H-P and H-D-P leaders have both ruled out the possibility of forming a coalition government with the rival AK party.
