Ansarullah: Saudi Arabia Continues Using Banned Weapons against Yemen in Violation
A senior Ansarullah leader disclosed that Saudi Arabia is targeting the Yemeni nation with prohibited weapons despite the UN-sponsored ceasefire.
“The Al Saud regime is still using prohibited and chemical weapons against the Yemeni nation,” Ahmad Hashem told FNA on Sunday.
He noted that the continued Saudi airstrikes on the innocent Yemeni people once again display the Riyadh government’s lack of respect for diplomatic and international rules and regulations.
The UN announced on Thursday that a humanitarian truce would come into force in Yemen to allow the delivery of urgently needed aid to civilians.
The ceasefire came into force at 23:59 local time (2059 GMT) on Friday and was due to run up to the end of the holy month of Ramadan on July 17. But Saudi Arabia has repeatedly violated the ceasefire.
Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen in the last 109 days to bring its ally, fugitive president Mansour Hadi, back to power.
The airstrikes have so far claimed the lives of more than 5,064 civilians, mostly women and children.
