Riyadh Keeps Bombing Yemen despite Truce, 10 Killed in Fresh Attacks
Saudi warplanes targeted residential areas in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a in flagrant violation of a UN-sponsored ceasefire early on Monday, and killed more than 10 people.
According to local reports, the monarchy’s airstrikes pounded the neighborhood of Sa’awan in Sana’a on Monday and claimed the lives of more than 10 civilians.
Elsewhere in Yemen, Saudi jets bombarded a number of medical and commercial centers in the Northwestern province of Amran.
Early on Sunday, the kingdom’s air raids targeted two oil tankers and a vehicle in the Southern province of al-Bayda and killed 8 people, including women and children.
Earlier in the day, similar attacks were carried out in the Southern province of Dhale in which two people were killed and two others injured.
Additionally, two children were killed after Saudi fighter jets hit residential areas in the Southwestern province of Ta’izz.
Meanwhile, one person was killed after Saudi jets bombarded the Abs district of the province of Hajjah overnight.
The UN announced on Thursday that a humanitarian truce would come into force in Yemen to allow the delivery of urgently needed aid to civilians.
The ceasefire came into force at 23:59 local time (2059 GMT) on Friday and was due to run up to the end of the holy month of Ramadan on July 17. But Saudi Arabia has repeatedly violated the ceasefire.
Saudi Arabia has been bombing Yemen in the last 110 days to bring its ally, fugitive president Mansour Hadi, back to power.
The airstrikes have so far claimed the lives of more than 5,074 civilians, mostly women and children

Ansarullah Kills ISIL Commander in Western Sana’a
A senior Ansarullah commander announced that the revolutionary movement has killed a senior ISIL commander in in heavy clashes in the capital of Sana’a on Monday.
“Abu Omar al-Shami was killed in the Western parts of Sana’a,” Oday Movafaq told FNA on Monday.
He noted that in another operation Abu Farouq, a senior commander of pro-Hadi militants, was also killed.
Last month, Yemen’s popular Ansarullah fighters captured a number of fugitive Al-Qaeda terrorists who were fleeing Ma’rib province.
The captured terrorists had fled their military bases in Al-Bayanat, Al-Jawf and Al-Sahil in Ma’rib province.
They were arrested by the Yemeni revolutionary forces on Ma’rib-Sana’a road.
The Ansarullah fighters and army troops have made major advances in their fight against the Saudi-backed al-Qaeda terrorists and forces loyal to fugitive President Mansour Hadi across Yemen in recent weeks.
