Abortion Funding is a Black and White Issue

(Before It's News)

We’re in the wake of another video exposing the practices of Planned Parenthood. The resulting emotions are a mix of anger, sadness, and frustration at inability to fix it all. In the midst of that, I saw this question posed on social media.

If this is not “the hill to die on”, then what could it possibly be??

I had to stop and ask myself that question. See, we watch these videos, shudder at the horror either explained or displayed, and then file it away into the “Outrage” drawer, ready to access it whenever necessary. Meanwhile, as we shuffle, abortions occur. This is daily. Yesterday they happened. Today they will happen. Tomorrow they will happen. Thirty-four days from now an unborn life will be taken. Start at the legal beginning of this homicide, count the number taken, and it reaches into the millions upon millions. It’s a constant drip of death, and it’s being funded in part by your tax dollars under the guise of “health” at Planned Parenthood locations nationwide. How convenient.

GOP candidate Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Planned Parenthood and its funding show he does not have a firm opinion on the subject. After all, PP is worthwhile, ya know, except for the murder part. On August 11, Trump said: “he would ‘look at the good aspects’ of Planned Parenthood before defunding the organization entirely, one week after he said he would shut down the government to strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding”. This is a businessman’s financial approach to the funding of a holocaust. As long as PP promises to do good things while doing the detestable, all the while receiving some of our money, we’re ok with that. On a related note, I heard Ted Bundy was a nice, courteous individual. If we could compartmentalize away the bad he did by murdering 30+ people, then I am fine giving him a stamp of approval. After all, I only approve of the parts I approve of. How convenient.

On August 17, in a pre-recorded appearance on Meet the Press, Trump discussed the issue again:

Once a leading proponent of shutting down the federal government over Planned Parenthood funding, Donald Trump now says he has to “think about it.”

Todd asked Trump if he was willing to shut down the federal government over Planned Parenthood’s public funding, Trump replied, “I’d have to think about it. It bothers me greatly that they’re doing the abortions.”

Abortion, and the taxpayer-funding of such a thing, is a black and white issue. There is no middle ground. You must choose one, and stand on that side. I wholly support a candidate who doesn’t waffle on such an issue and who will see through to completion the defunding of PP, whatever that takes.

For those who haven’t seen the latest video, I urge you to watch it. It isn’t easy, but it’s essential that we remain uncomfortable. Only discomfort will propel us and others to action. The worst part for me (and everyone) was the following:

Holly O’Donnell, a former procurement technician at StemExpress…describes the harvesting of an intact brain from a late-term male fetus whose heart was still beating after the abortion:

“And I’m sitting here, and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think. . . . She’s [the doctor performing the abortion], like, ‘Do you know why that’s happening?’ And I knew why that was happening. It’s because the electrical current — the nodes were still firing.”

“It [the baby] had a face. It wasn’t completely torn up. It’s nose was very pronounced. It had eyelids. And its mouth was pronounced. And then since the fetus was so intact, she [the doctor] said, ‘Okay, this is a really good fetus, and it looks like we can procure a lot from it. We’re going to procure a brain.’”

“I remember holding that fetus in my hands, when everyone else was busy, and started crying and opened the lid and put it back [in the jar]. It’s really hard knowing you’re the only person who’s ever going to hold that baby.”

A candidate who is unsure on how to deal with taxpayer-funding of abortions, or who believes there are “good aspects” to Planned Parenthood, is not one who will receive my support. This issue is absolutely the hill to die on, because if not, we’ll have declared that life itself is actually an inconvenience.
