Greek PM calls on European Parliament to oversee Greece’s new bailout deal – YouTube
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has called on the European
Parliament to join the group of creditors overseeing the country’s
recently-approved bailout deal.
Tsipras called for the full
involvement of the European Parliament as the fifth actor in the context
of the so-called quartet of creditors. The quartet refers to the
European Commission, the European Central Bank, the International
Monetary Fund and a representative from the European Stability
Mechanism. The request was made as eurozone finance ministers formally
approved the release of the first tranche of a new 86-billion euro
bailout for Athens.
