Hillary’s Private E-Mail Server Contains Exactly what we Thought it would

(Before It's News)

The ongoing scandal involving the contents of Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server appears to have gotten too big for even our government to ignore. For months, conservatives have been saying she used her private e-mail server for official business during her time as Secretary of State, including the possible transmission of classified material. The Clinton campaign, Democrats across the nation, and her allies in the media have denied it for months, but now that she has turned her server over to the FBI, it appears that we on the Right have been vindicated. From a McClatchy report:

The inspector general for the Intelligence Community notified senior members of Congress that two of four classified emails discovered on the server Clinton maintained at her New York home contained material deemed to be in one of the highest security classifications – more sensitive than previously known.

The notice came as the State Department inspector general’s office acknowledged that it is reviewing the use of “personal communications hardware and software” by Clinton’s former top aides after requests from Congress.

“We will follow the facts wherever they lead, to include former aides and associates, as appropriate,” said Douglas Welty, a spokesman for the State Department’s inspector general.

Despite the acknowledgment, the State Department inspector general’s office has left numerous unanswered questions, including exactly who and what is being investigated. The office initially declined to comment and referred questions to the Intelligence Community inspector general’s office, which said it is not currently involved in any inquiry into aides and is being denied full access to aides’ emails by the State Department. Clinton, herself, is not a target.

Senator Chuck Grassley has been at the forefront of those trying to hold Hillary accountable. Understandably, he has something to say about this issue. From a press release:

“I appreciate the Intelligence Community Inspector General providing more information in response to the questions that many members of Congress and the public have regarding the classified emails that were on former Secretary of State Clinton’s private server and on a thumb drive with her private attorney. This information revealed by the inspector general makes it even more important that the FBI and the State Department secure these documents. To date, the two agencies most critical to securing this information have failed to assure the American people that they are taking the necessary steps to protect America’s national security interests.”

Hillary’s standing in the polls of the Democratic primary is eroding, but we can never rule a Clinton out because of a scandal. If nothing else, we can look to the example of what happened to her friend Sandy Berger, who got off essentially scot-free for removing classified documents from the National Archives by stuffing them in his pants.

Even so, whether she escapes being punished for this or not, confidence in her among Democrats is eroding. I won’t go as far as some of my activist friends and say she’s done, but the proverbial fat lady is practicing her chords in her dressing room. At this point, though, if the Republicans can somehow avoid screwing their own candidate selection process up and nominate a conservative, there’s no reason to believe the 2016 election isn’t winnable against any of the candidates currently seeking the Democratic nomination.

On another note, though, I do admit to taking some pleasure in pointing out just how much the media got wrong in their attempts to cover for Herself*. The evidence has finally become too big for the media or the government to ignore, although if there’s any way to spin the news to protect Herself, they most definitely will. That means that our job as bloggers and activists still isn’t done as far as this subject is concerned.

*=Thanks Kevin Williamson for that name.
