America’s Lawyer Mike Papantonio, Ring of Fire, joins Thom Hartmann. This fall – students in Texas will start using history textbooks that say that the Civil War was primarily about state’s rights – not slavery. As if that wasn’t bad enough – the textbooks are part of a new history curriculum that – according to the Washington Post – does not “mention the Ku Klux Klan or Jim Crow laws” Is it time for a new Reconstruction of the South? When you see stories like that and think everything that’s happened over the past few weeks with Dylann Roof, the Confederate Flag, etc. It’s been 150 years since the Civil War and it seems like we’re still fighting the same battles over and over again….
