Madison states unequivocally that the powers of the national government are “few and defined.” Madison, The Federalist Papers, Letter 45. This concept is so simple that even the liberal leaning and low information crowd should be able to grasp it. In fact, Madison itemizes these powers so there could be no confusion on the matter.
Madison schools us with elementary simplicity saying that the powers of the national government “may be reduced into [6] different classes”– “1. Security against foreign danger; 2. Regulation of the intercourse with foreign nations; 3. Maintenance of harmony and proper intercourse among the States; 4. Certain miscellaneous objects of general utility; 5 Restraint of the States from certain injurious acts; 6. Provisions for giving due efficacy to all these powers.” Madison, The Federalist Papers, Letter 41.
In another letter, Madison further simplifies these powers explaining that they include only the power of “war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce.” Madison, The Federalist Papers, Letter 45. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution gives a very detailed description of those powers. Read the list. There is nothing in there that even remotely suggests that Congress has the power to pass a socialized healthcare package as they did with Obamacare. This is one of the most dangerous pieces of legislation to come along in our country. In fact, according to many, it is the beginning of the end and will be followed by more and more socialized legislation until our Constitutional Republic is destroyed.
One such individual was Ronald Reagan, who in 1961, warned against the fatal dangers of socialized healthcare. If the American people ever allow Congress to pass a socialized health care package, he said, then “just as surely as the Sun will come tomorrow . . . behind [it] will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country until one day . . . we will awake to find that we have socialism. And . . . you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.”
Socialism turns into Communism. Communism is centralized planning and control by an elite group of self-appointed planners. Today, we are already seeing the realization of Reagan’s prediction with the passage of Obamacare in 2010. One of the new “federal programs” that have invaded our freedom is Common Core State Standards Initiative (“CCSS” or “Common Core”).
Common Core was foisted onto the American People through the subtle, deceitful tactics of the federal and world planners. By 2011, 45 states had adopted Common Core but by 2013, 62% of the American public had never heard of it. Common Core not only is a “dumbing down” of our education system, but it destroys individualism and creative thinking. The real goal of Common Core is to teach conformity to the dictates of world government. Common Core also rewrites American History textbooks, which minimizes the impact of the Founders and promotes integration of the student into the body of world citizenry.
With the passage of Obamacare and subsequent programs following in its destructive wake such as the advent of the Common Core curriculum, Reagan’s words will prove to be prophetic, if we do not fight to repeal Obamacare and reject Common Core.
