Search underway for armed man near Fitchburg State University –People on campus told to stay indoors | 20 Aug 2015 | (MA) A search is underway for an armed man near Fitchburg State University Thursday night, according to an alert posted on the university's website. According to an alert posted to the university's website, people on campus are being asked to stay indoors and call 911 to report suspicious activity. “The bulk of our students have not yet arrived for the fall semester, but we activated our emergency notification system as a precaution,” Matt Bruun, of Fitchburg State University, said.
