(Before It's News)

dunce-2

If you go far enough east you eventually end up meeting someone from the west going the other way.  And if you read enough conservative takedowns of congressional leaders, you eventually end up agreeing with someone like Michael Winship.

Winship is a senior writer for Bill Moyers on his “Moyers & Company” PBS program, and a fellow of the far-far-left think tank Demos (DEE-mos).  He wrote that “Congress Is a Confederacy of Dunces,” and I totally agree.

Well, mostly agree.

The only difference between Winship’s broadside and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100%’s, for instance, is that Winship gives the Republicans credit for actually having a strategy—and he paints the whole party with that brush.  Senators like Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) 100% and members of congress like Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) 94% and Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) 100% don’t deserve the credit liberals bestow for creating the dunce confederacy.

That credit goes mostly to leaders like Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) N/A% and Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 58%—the dual dunces-in-chief.

When one-world-government leftists and informed conservatives can come to the same conclusion, it’s probably because it’s the unfettered truth.

The probable outcome of all this sturm und drang is passage of a yet another continuing resolution (CR) that would keep government running at its current funding levels until a solution is hammered out. Mike DeBonis and Kelsey Snell reported in The Washington Post, “Congressional Democrats … [have] already named a price for backing a short-term funding extension: no unrelated policy riders or attempts to undo Obama policy initiatives in the stopgap measure, with long-term negotiations over increases in domestic spending to follow.”

And we already know what Boehner and McConnell are planning—contributor streiff wrote it right in these pages.

[Cruz] says the only tactic in the GOP playbook is “surrender.” He also said the governing philosophy in the GOP leadership was that if you don’t have 67 votes you have to do what Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 14% says.

The GOP leadership is truly a rudderless ship, with two doofuses dressed in Cap’n Crunch uniforms on deck spinning a wheel that’s connected to absolutely nothing at all.
