Iranian Ayatollahs have no respect for their citizens. They have already sent many of them to the gallows or torture chambers to maintain their power. This regime is repeating its old legerdemain of bringing its MOIS (Ministry of Intelligence and Security) close to Camp Liberty pretending they are resident’s family members who have come to meet their close relatives. The act is engineered to bring into disrepute the most active foes of the Ayatollahs. Almost 3000 members of Iranian opposition (PMOIMEK) are now confined in Camp Liberty in the vicinity of Baghdad. Since their displacement from Camp Ashraf, three years ago, Iranian regime’s proxies, mercenaries of the former Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri Maliki, have tried to kneel them down.
In recent events, in the first week of September, a group of about twenty men and women were brought to the camp’s police station under the guise of requesting family visits with the residents. It is strange that when nobody, no family members, no Iraqi friends and not even resident’s lawyers have been allowed into the camp these visitors can easily pass all the checkpoints, particularly, in the highly secured Baghdad airport area, to go to Camp Liberty. US Senator Robert Torricelli’s – the legal representative of the residents – efforts to enter Camp Liberty failed, two years ago, when he travelled to Iraq. Endeavors by the residents, in the past weeks, of calling on the US government, UNAMI and UNHCR to ask the Iraqi government to stop the transfer of these Iranian regime agents to the camp have not received much attention. The intruders have begun actually chanting slogans against the residents; hurling stones and initiating other provocative measures that the residents say remind them of a similar process back in Camp Ashraf that started February 2010, with the psychological torture of the residents through 320 powerful loudspeakers installed by these agents all around their previous Camp north of Baghdad. These measures continued and on September 1st 2013 rendered the massacre of 52 residents and the abduction of 7 other residents. In both cases the regime agents showcased in their front rows some old men and women to buy themselves creditability.
Some of the real family members of the residents who, in the past year, visited their relatives in camp Ashraf were arrested when they returned home. Some of them such as Akbar Sarami, Jafar Kazimi , Mohsen Dogmechi and … were put to death while some are still in jail.
Transfer of these agents was, well in advance, announced in some Iranian state media. These individuals have said quite publicly on many occasions that the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) is sending them and Tehran’s MOIS has actually accepted the responsibility of dispatching these individuals under the pretext of family visits. Sources in the Iranian resistance and National Council of Resistance of Iran have confirmed that this latter group is conducted by Karimdadi, a known MOIS agent who in the past has held conferences in parts of Iran, on behalf of MOIS, denouncing the MEK.
