Russia says arms supplies for Syria aim to help Damascus fight Daesh terrorists

Lavrov: US knows ISIS positions, refuses to bomb

September 13th, 2015 – Pnp.ru – translated for Fort Russ by Joaquin Flores -

“Lavrov: Russia has information that the US knows the position of the IS, but does not bomb them”

Russia has information that the US know the specific location points of the “Islamic State” (extremist organization banned in Russia), but did not give an order to strike on the positions “of the IS,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

In the program “Sunday times” on “Channel 1″ Lavrov said that the US government “was not originally very careful in creating a coalition, or conspired towards goals that were not the declared ones.”

According to the foreign minister, the coalition was created spontaneously, “within just a few days it was announced that it includes a number of countries and then begun strikes.”

Lavrov said that the analysis of aviation operations in countries included in the coalition, “creates a strange impression,” – as if in addition to fighting “the IS” “there is something else which is a concern of the coalition.”

The minister said: “I hope not to disappoint anyone in saying that some of our colleagues from the incoming coalition of countries have information on where exactly and on what positions are “IS” or other subdivisions, and the commander of the coalition (the United States ) does not give consent to striking them.

Russia positioning tanks at Syria airfield: U.S. officialsWASHINGTON | By Phil Stewart

Russia has positioned about a half dozen tanks at an airfield at the center of a military buildup in Syria, two U.S. officials said on Monday, adding that the intentions of Moscow’s latest deployment of heavy military equipment were unclear.

Moscow has come under increased international pressure in recent days to explain its moves in Syria, where the Kremlin has been supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a 4-1/2-year war.

The Pentagon declined to directly comment on the Reuters report, saying it could not discuss U.S. intelligence. But a spokesman said recent actions by Moscow suggested plans to establish a forward air operating base.

“We have seen movement of people and things that would indicate that they plan to use that base there, south of Latakia, as a forward air operating base,” Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis told a news briefing.

One of the U.S. officials, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, said seven Russian T-90 tanks had been observed at the airfield near Latakia, an Assad stronghold.

Syria: The (Russian Air) Cavalry Is Coming

In light of the catastrophic outcome of the “western” war on Libya the Russian government declared to oppose any further such “regime change” in the Middle East. But the U.S. continues to train, arm and finance insurgents against the Syrian Arab Republic and, under the disguise of fighting the Islamic State, prepares to take down the Syrian government. Eliminating the Syrian government would likely create a radical jihadist state in Damascus and lead to massacres and mass refugee movements.

But Russia means what it says and will now use its military capabilities to confront the U.S. plans:

Elijah J. Magnier

#Russia is providing #Syria with precision military and destructive equipment. #Russia will start soon operating n #Syria sky to hit rebels+

The participation of the #Russian Air Force in #Syria worries #Israel that won’;t be able to have a free sky to hit Syrian troops.+

This is THE major change in #Russia approach and support to #Damascus regime, to prevent game change on the ground in #Syria +

The decision of #Russia comes mainly from regional support 2rebels, not satisfy w/ d north f #Syria (#Idlib) and aiming to #Hama & #Damascus

Russian air-support for Syria against the various forces attacking the state will allow for additional air attacks against those forces. The Syrian air force is today already flying more than 100 sorties per day against it enemies. The Russian forces will add to that but not necessarily in a decisive amount.

The main support for Syria by Russian air assets will come by keeping away those foreign air forces forces that threaten the Syrian government under disguise of “fighting terror”. With Russian fighters in Syrian skies Israel will no longer be able to use its air force in support of Jabhat al-Nusra (and for its oil stealing endeavors in the Syrian Golan heights).

The U.S., Britain, France and others announced to enter Syrian skies to “fight the terror” of the Islamic State. Russia will use just the same claim to justify its presence and its air operations flying from Latakia. Simply by being there it will make sure that others will not be able to use their capabilities for more nefarious means. Additional intelligence from Russian air assets will also be helpful for Syrian ground operations.

The Russian air capabilities will be supplemented with air defense cover from Russian naval assets on the Syrian coast. Russia announced several air defense drills with live missile launches off the Syrian coast near Tartus. New land based air defense assets are said to be on their way. I would not be surprised to see, over time, some Chinese naval assets joining the Russian presence.

Secretary of State Kerry whined to Russia that its intervention in Syria might intervene with the U.S. intervention in Syria. Well, yes sir, that is the sole purpose:

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday coordination was needed between Russia’s military and the Pentagon to avoid “unintended incidents” around Syria, where both countries have a military presence.

Lavrov said Russia would continue to supply weapons to Syrian President Bashar Assad to help the Syrian armed forces fight against ISIS militants.

He told a news conference Russia was conducting military exercises in the Mediterranean Sea, that it had been for some time, and that they were in line with international law.

The neoconned State Department childishly pressured Greece and Bulgaria to disallow Russian military air transport over their countries. But Russian planes can just as well fly via Iran and Iraq and both countries are very unlikely to ever block such flights. As Russian ground forces will not be involved in any fighting the supply needs can be kept limited.

Any attempt by Turkey, pressured by State Department lunatics, to block the Bosporus sea route between Russia and Syria would be in breach of the Montreux Convention and could be interpreted as hostile act against Russia on which Turkey depends for a large amount of its energy supplies. After losing control over the predominantly Kurdish south-eastern city Cizre Turkey also has to take care of its own civil war which Erdogan foolishly ignited to regain a parliamentarian majority. That internal war will hinder resupplies for the Islamic State through Turkey.

The U.S. plan to use the fight against the Islamic State as cover to remove the Syrian government is now in tatters. The months long U.S. supported “Southern Front” attack in south Syria failed to make any gains against the government. The Islamic State attack against Syrian government forces in Deir ez-Zor was repelled and further moves against Syria in the north will have to defy Russian air power.

Washington will now have to decide to risk war against Russia or to shelf the Syria regime change project.

Russian Tanks, Artillery Massing Near Syrian Airfield, US Officials Tell Reuters

We can only hope the “anonymous” US officials will soon provide photographic evidence of their claims.

One irony is that both Moscow and Washington say their enemy is Islamic State, whose Islamist fighters control large parts of Syria and Iraq. But Russia supports the government of Assad in Syria, while the United States says his presence makes the situation worse, which promptly eliminates ISIS as the proximal cause for any military action in the middle east and confirms that the only fulcrum issue is the political future of Syria with the latest conflict merely yet another proxy war waged on behalf of commodities.

The second irony is that the events of the summer/fall of 2015 in Syria are a replica not only of the Syrian showdown of 2013 when nobody was hiding their military intentions, or inventory for that matter, in the Syrian region but also of the summer of 2014 when the US was accusing Russia, and Russia was correspondingly denying, that Russian troops/equipment were present in east Ukraine.

That particular escalation point fizzled out, however since it was all a grand rehearsal for the Syrian Showdown 2.0, this time we expect that the tit-for-tat build up, both in the press and on the battlefield to continue as both sides play coy for media purposes, until finally it becomes clear that an armed showdown over the future of the Qatar gas pipeline is virtually inevitable.

Israeli-Made Weapons Seized by Hezbollah in Zabadani

A large cache of Israeli-made weapons was seized in Zabadani region during the mop-up operations by the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement.
After 10 days of the Syrian army and Hezbollah troops’ massive operations to cleanse different districts in Southwestern Zabadani region, efforts still continue to discover the terrorists’ linking tunnels and hideouts.

Only on Monday morning, Hezbollah forces could purge the terrorists from nearly 15 residential blocks in the Eastern part of al-Jasr mosque.
Also they arrested three members of Ahrar al-Sham terrorist group during their house to house searching in Zabadani.
Hezbollah forces also discovered and seized a large cache of Israeli-made weapons and military equipment in areas near al-Rahmah mosque in the Central parts of Zabadani.
The Syrian army and popular forces retook the city of Zabadani from terrorists on September 1.
The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance forces almost completed their mop-up operations in the city of Zabadani that wasseized back from the terrorists last Wednesday.
“The resistance forces have purged terrorists from Zabadani in a two-day operation,” an informed source told FNA.
The source reiterated that the terrorists had dug tunnels underneath the buildings in Zabadani to get to other parts of the city.
Then on Thursday, Israel attacked a position of the Syrian Army in Zabadani that was used by government and Hezbollah’s joint troops to pound terrorists, according to a military source.
The Israeli Air Force has carried out airstrikes against an artillery position of the Syrian Army near the town of Zabadani, around 45 km (28 miles) from Syria’s capital Damascus, a

military source told Sputnik on Thursday.

“Israeli Air Force planes carried out airstrikes at an artillery position belonging to the Syrian Army,” the source said. “The artillery was used by the army to repel attacks from militants

in the eastern part of Zabadani.” The source added that terrorists attacked Syrian

army positions on the east side of Zabadani in the early hours of Thursday. The Syrian military, supported by the artillery shelling, managed to repel the attack after a three-hour battle.
After the Israeli Air Force carried out the airstrike, militants reportedly launched a second assault attempt, also repelled by the government’s forces, according to the source.

Iraqi Forces Repel ISIL’s Heavy Offensive in Beiji

The Iraqi Army repelled the heavy attacks of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Beiji, in Salahuddin province, and killed or wounded tens of terrorists.

The Iraqi army and popular forces resisted against the invasion of hundreds

of ISIL terrorists and several suicide vehicles near al-Mazra’ah village in Beiji city.

Reports said over 65 Takfiri terrorists were killed or wounded during the clashes and the militants were forced to withdraw from the region.
Based on field reports, tranquility now prevails in Beiji and surrounding areas.
The Iraqi forces started operations to purge Beiji of terrorists few months ago, and later took full control of the city, its refinery and its surrounding areas.
But last week reports said that the Takfiri terrorists took back some parts of Beiji in Salahuddin province after two weeks of heavy attacks on the region.
Now the Iraqi forces say that they have pushed ISIL back from the city.

Iraqi Popular Forces Reject Withdrawal from Ramadi, Voice Opposition to US Partnership in Anbar Battle

The Iraqi popular forces known as Al-Hashad Al-Shabi dismissed media reports claiming that they have withdrawn from Ramadi city, and underlined opposition to the US forces’ partnership in fighting against terrorists in the Western province of Anbar.

“The US will not sacrifice even one of its soldiers for Iraq and their present meddling in the government’s affairs is a plot to disintegrate Iraq,” Karim al-Nouri, a commander of the popular forces, was quoted by

Iraq’s Arabic-language Ware’e news agency as saying. He reminded that Al-Hashad Al-Shabi has earned

many victories against the terrorists, and said, “Therefore, the popular forces will not wait for anyone’s permission and will continue fighting against the ISIL.”
Earlier this month, former Iraqi Transport Minister Salam al-Maliki underlined that Washington was on the same side with the ISIL, and urged his country’s popular forces to expedite

uprooting the terrorists in Al-Anbar province.

“There are compelling evidence which prove that the US has supplied the ISIL with weapons and intelligence,” Al-Maliki told FNA.
He noted that the recent statements of the US officials indicated that they were willing to prolong the battle for winning back Anbar province.
Al-Maliki, however, said that the Iraqi forces were preparing for fresh operations in Fallujah and Ramadi in Anbar province.
A senior Iraqi intelligence official revealed in July that the US helicopters dropped weapons and other aids for the ISIL terrorists in the Western province of al-Anbar.
“The fighters present at the forefront of fighting against the ISIL always see US helicopters flying over the

ISIL-controlled areas and dropping weapons and urgent aids for them,”

the official who called for anonymity told FNA.

Yet, he said the helicopters could have also been sent from Turkey or Israel.
He added that in addition to dropping aids, the helicopters transferred the ISIL ringleaders and wounded members from the battleground to some hospitals in Syria or other countries which support the terrorist group.
The official cautioned that such assistance further prolonged the conflicts in Anbar, adding that when the Iraqi army and popular forces purged the terrorists from Anbar province, the US helicopters would transfer the ISIL ringleaders to other regions to prevent the Iraqi forces’ access to ISIL secrets.

  • The Russians are a little late in the game. The ISIS savages just left for Europe . . . 80% 18 to 22 year old males. Satan’s soldiers. AND . . . the Europeans are actually letting them in! Hopefully new concentration camps/EU-FEMA camps.

  • ISIS = Obama & Israel, CIA,Mossad control……………our military has orders not to bomb ISIS, ISIS fighters are treated at Israeli hospitals….our military bomb Syrian military…that was the whole idea..ISIS is paid for with our tax dollars no doubt….and if they attack Europe and USA it will be because Rothschild told his Obama, Israeli puppets to have them attack…

Only Russia & Iran are actually fighting ISIS…and that is pissing off the above….

  • Russia will not stand by as the USA under the control of jewish bankers employes these ISIS fighters to attack kurds for Turkey or take out the government in Syria and to run death squads in Iraq.

No sir, Russia is doing it’s international duty and taking out these terrorists that started life as the FSA and all carry made in US M/16′s and drive around in UN jeeps.

Don’t worry, ISIS or no ISIS we are going to get a few false flags in Europe because they want to lock down the internet to remove our freedom of speech under the guise of “Natonal Security” and the mass influx of immigrants is being allowed because slave labour competing with the rest of us will push down wages, up profits for corporations owned by banks that are under the control of jewish international banks.

    Follow the money

  • “Washington will now have to decide to risk war against Russia or to shelf the Syria regime change project.”

And the contributor thinks this is a beneficial tactic? Beneficial for whom, exactly?
Beneficial for war weary citizens that Bashar Assad has systematically used chemical weapons upon? Beneficial for ISIS groups that run to Syria for protection, provisions and new personnel? Beneficial for Assad so that he can maintain his position?

Or most likely just beneficial for the warm water port that Putin would maintain control over…..His lease runs out in ten years. If Putin gains full control of a substantial amount of real estate during a military conflict….ahem ….or let me correct myself….an “Annexation”……then he won’t have to pay a ‘lease’ for that real estate anymore.

Putin doesn’t really care about Syria….or ISIS….Putin cares about Putin.
