As the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches, activists, researchers, family members, and firefighters are hoping to educate the public about the mountain of questions surrounding the attacks of September 11, 2001.
On Friday, September 11, 2015, and September 12, two events will be hosted by a coalition of groups, including the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and Firefighters for 9/11 Truth.
This year’s events are the latest in a long line of conferences, symposiums, debates, and documentary screenings that have been held for over a decade by those who have questions about the attacks. There is no official position within this loose-knit “9/11 Truth” movement, a diverse group of individuals including journalists, professional researchers, activists, family members, architects, and engineers. Rather, you will find a mix of opinions, theories, and ideas, which sometimes conflict with one another.
However, despite the wide-ranging theories, one thing seems to be certain: all of the individuals who fall under this umbrella generally assert that, without a doubt, the official story promoted by the U.S. government is full of holes and easily debunked.
It is these holes that organizers of this year’s events hope to exploit. By presenting evidence that counters the government’s claims and debunking government science, the group hopes to create a change in the American consciousness, leading to a call for a new and independent investigation.
On Friday September 11, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth will screen a documentary titled “Firefighters, Architects, Engineers: Expose the Myths of 9/11”. The organization is made up of former New York firefighters and supporters from departments around the nation, who question the official version of events.
Richard Gage, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, said this year’s events will be different because “this year marks the re-entry of Erik Lawyer, the founder of Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, back into the 9/11 truth movement, with the support of 200 firefighter petition signers.” Gage said the new documentary from the Firefighters for 9/11 Truth will give skeptics of the official story new material to explore and share.
The following day, September 12 beginning at 9:30 a.m., organizers will host a symposium called “Declassify the Truth – 9/11 Transparency On The Rise”, which promises to “evaluate several events such as the emergence of an FBI whistleblower on the anthrax attacks, legislation in Congress to declassify 28 pages of 9/11 evidence and the political repercussions approaching the next presidential election.”
Some of the panels include:
The event will also feature surviving family members of the 9/11 victims including Bob McIlvaine. Also appearing for the first time will be a survivor of the North Tower, Henry Pavlak. Pavlak recently released a fiction novel called One Way Elevator about his experience in the North tower and what lead him to question the official story. TruthInMedia will be reporting live from the event as well.
Both events will be at the West Park Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of 86th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in New York City.

Examining the 28 Pages
For 2015, these diverse ideas and theories will be presented with a significant focus on recent efforts to declassify 28 pages of the Senate report on 9/11. The 28 pages in question are a portion of the Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001 (not the 9/11 Commission Report). Although the final report amounts to over 800 pages, the 28 pages were classified by former President George W. Bush shortly after the report was released in 2002. The 28 pages make up the bulk of a section titled “Part 4: Finding, Discussion and Narrative Regarding Certain Sensitive National Security Matters.”
Truth In Media has followed the saga of the 28 pages for several years. Officials who have seen the documents have stated that the information relates to financing of the suspected terrorists, and points a finger at members of the government of Saudi Arabia.
Upon seeing the 28 pages himself, Kentucky Republican Congressman Thomas Massie said there will be “anger, frustration, and embarrassment when these 28 pages finally come out.”
Despite receiving little attention from the corporate media, the battle over the pages’ declassification is still being fought by intrepid activists and family members of the victims of the 9/11 attacks. In January, Congressmen Stephen F. Lynch and Walter B. Jones stood with former Senator Bob Graham and families of 9/11 victims as they announced the introduction of a new House Resolution which calls on President Obama to declassify the 28 pages.
The representatives introduced a similar resolution in 2013 and received bipartisan support. Now Jones, Lynch, and Massie are pushing House Resolution 14 which states that “declassification of the pages is necessary to provide the American public with the full truth surrounding the tragic events of September 11, 2001, particularly relating to the involvement of foreign governments.”
Graham has stated that he is convinced the government of Saudi Arabia funded “at least some of the terrorists who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks.” Graham is the former co-chairman of the Joint Congressional Inquiry into the attacks. At the time of the classification he was among 46 senators who signed a letter to Jeb’s brother urging their release. He recently told the New York Times that he was not giving up his pursuit of finding out who was funding the 9/11 attacks:
“NO. 1, I THINK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DESERVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THEIR NAME. NO. 2 IS JUSTICE FOR THESE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE SUFFERED SUCH LOSS AND THUS FAR HAVE BEEN FRUSTRATED LARGELY BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT IN THEIR EFFORTS TO GET SOME COMPENSATION.”
The former Senator also told the Times that several years ago an agent with the FBI told him to give up the investigation and “get a life.”
“To me, the most simple, unanswered question of 9/11 is, did the 19 hijackers act alone or were they assisted by someone in the United States?” he told the Times.
Saudi Arabia has vehemently denied any connection to the financing of the 9/11 attacks and continues to fight lawsuits from family members of the 9/11 victims.
