“Rise above the endless desire to dominate the world,” said Putin in a press conference. There are many differences between the way politics is done in America and in Russia  There are countless differences between the current U.S. president and Vladimir Putin. Among all those differences there is one evident feature that Putin has that Obama does not: Putin speaks clearly and straightforwardly. Putin is also a very smart man. He can get out of any political hole, no matter how deep it is. In a recent interview with Charlie Rose for CBS’s 60 Minutes, Rose pressed Putin about different issues and at times he used deceitful ways to question Putin’s actions. Rose acted like a trickster while attempting to drive Putin into a bottomless hole. Contrary to Rose’s strategy, Putin was candid, calm and responsive before all of Rose’s insinuations about his past as a KGB agent. On Monday, a day after the broadcast of Putin’s interview on American television, the Russian leader spoke at the UN General Assembly and once again ignored America’s insinuations and direct accusations about Russia’s supposed role in fueling the conflict in Syria and Ukraine. But it was not any of those two speeches that raised the most eyebrows. The comments that should have been talked about the most were those that Putin made at the Valdai International Discussion Club, back in 2014. Then, the Russian president answered questions from journalists who questioned him about America designating Russia as one of its top 3 threats. Russia was joined in that selected group by ISIS and Ebola. Despite Obama’s baseless accusations, Putin took the opportunity to clear up the air once and for all. He not only rejected the truthfulness of Obama’s statements but directly accused the U.S. of aiding ISIS in Syria, of arming rebels that later became members of the terrorist group and even condemned U.S. foreign policy for its failure in Iraq, Libya and Syria. The imperialistic ways of the American government, Putin said, are the cause of the mess taking place right now in the Middle East. His complete answer to the question posed by a journalist on whether Russia was responsible for the civil war in Syria is in the video below. Watch a key part of Putin’s interview with Charlie Rose below where he talks about Syria, Russia’s involvement in the civil war and how the U.S. has added fuel to the fire by supporting terrorists. And lastly, here is Putin’s speech at the UN General Assembly on Monday:
