Reality Check: Why Marriage Licenses Have Nothing To Do With God, Kim Davis
Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis is still in jail, held in contempt of court because she would not hand out marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis says she answers to God, and a lot of people are standing with her.
But is she way off base in what she is saying?
This is a Reality Check you won’t see anywhere else.
In the video above, Davis claimed that her office could not uphold the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. And though it is her job to issue marriage licenses, she says she could not do so because of her religious beliefs.
So a judge sent her to jail, holding her in contempt, saying that she could issue those licenses, she just wouldn’t. Politicians are weighing in.
“I would agree that what Kim Davis did was heroic and she suffered the consequences for it,” Rick Santorum told CNN.
“For the first time we are seeing a Christian woman thrown in jail for her faith,” Sen. Ted Cruz told Fox News. “I stand with Kim Davis.”
A lot of people are calling this a war on Christianity. But is it? Is it really?
Keep in mind, the woman who won’t issue marriage licenses to gay couples because of God’s law has been divorced three times—twice from the same man. Currently, Davis is married to her fourth husband.
Biblically, Jesus himself never speaks of homosexuality, but does condemn divorce and remarriage.
Luke 16:18 reads, “Every one who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.”
Should Davis be protecting her own marriage instead of the county?
But there is a bigger issue here. Why does Davis think that marriage licenses have anything to do with God? Aren’t they a function of government?
Is there any connection between a marriage license and the bible?
No. In fact, nationally, marriage licenses in America are less than 100 years old. George Washington didn’t have a marriage license.
So where did they come from?
Reality Check: They were created to prevent interracial marriage.
Get this: for many years, interracial marriage was a crime. In the mid-1800s, certain states began allowing interracial marriages as long as those marrying received a license from the state. Black’s Law Dictionary points to this historical fact when it defines “marriage license” as, “A license or permission granted by public authority to persons who intend to intermarry.”
“Intermarry” is defined in Black’s Law Dictionary as “mixed or interracial marriages.”
Not long after these licenses were issued, some states began requiring all people who marry to obtain a marriage license. In 1923, the federal government established the Uniform Marriage and Marriage License Act (they later established the Uniform Marriage and Divorce Act). It wasn’t until 1929 when every state in the union had adopted marriage license laws.
What you need to know is that Davis has every right to her religious beliefs. We all do. But Davis is not an elder or officer of religion at a church or a religious institution. She works for the county government and is paid $80,000 per year to serve as an officer of the government under the law. County government is not representative of God.
Davis is taking her belief that same-sex marriage is sin, ignoring the clear theology that divorce and remarriage is a sin, and then using her position in government to defend God by not issuing a license that has nothing to do with God in the first place.

Really, marriage has nothing to do whatsoever with the ‘government’. It is just for more taxes and to keep control over people
It should be between two people, a man and a woman, obviously, who love and respect and care for one another, and no one should give them a license. Least of all the Satanic leadership of this system. This should be done with someone as a witness, obviously, if possible, and ideally should be written or recorded and filed with a trusted person/authority.
That is all. Our courts are a disaster. Divorces should be taken care of by the families….churches, temples, and people involved, like the tribunals of the bible.
A living Christ? they also believe that, my good trusting brother. Their Christ is the Solar Deity Baby Saviour-figure born at the Winter Solstice, conceived at Ishtar, 9+ mnths earlier.. at the celebratory rituals of sex and fertility of the Mother of God, the Holi Spirit (female demon goddess).
If we are talking about the Scriptural Saviour Yahushua on the other hand, it is true, they are afraid and hate him. That is why they teach us nothing about him, his father, or his name or his Father’s name: IAUE (Yahweh)
and Yahushua or Yahshua.
They will think they can prevent his return and will gather together at one point (hopefully soon?) at Har Megiddo to try to fight the Creator’s Right Hand Son/Strong Right Arm! What arrogance, what utter stupidity, and what complete and deep EVIL is reigning in their heads and spirits!
Horus, their Christ-figure, called by many names in many places thru history, Tammuz, Her, Hero, Heru, Hu, ? Dumuzi, Mithra, Apollo, Adonis, Bacchus, Dionysus, Ba’al, is actually a living entity, as they call it, Christ, a solar deity figure of a saviour, so that is not in itself a definitive way to identify the Scriptural Messiah, who also lives; we need very much to define our terms, and then no one can be deceived.
We really need to examine this issue very very painstakingly. They are counting on their experience with you all (christians) that you will not. They are laughing into their chalices as Christians go down the path of destruction, willingly, believing these lies they all teach us in Church.
Christianity is not blbical, as they teach it as a religion in church. This is hard for many of you to comprehend.
Ask questions, study, and prove all things. Read your bibles by yourselves. Every day or chance you have. Read it before you sleep. Pray to IAUE to help you with these things you need to know.
Pray for protection in the blood of Yahushua, not Jesus. Demons laugh at people sometimes when they pray in Jesus’ name. Because Jesus was not and never will be the real Hebrew tribe Messiah IAUE sent to earth to atone for our sins…
