Russia has dismissed the latest criticism by US President Barrack Obama of its stance on Syria.
Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said the criticism is absolutely not a new thing. He added that it’s unacceptable and dangerous to force decisions on the people of Syria. On Friday, Obama criticized Russia’s continued support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, calling the policy a mistake. Obama also warned against Russia’s military buildup in Syria. But Moscow insists that the military cooperation is aimed at battling the ISIL terrorist group. The Kremlin says it recognizes Assad as the legitimate president of Syria.
