Canadian election 2015 goes to the Liberals as NDP crumbles back to third-party status | 19 Oct 2015 | The Liberal Party steamrolled toward a stunning political comeback Monday night, picking up scores of seats across the country on the way to forming a new government and capping an historic and prolonged campaign. In the 2011 election, the Liberals collapsed to just 34 seats and third place in the House of Commons. But they had added more than 120 additional seats by late evening, taking from both NDP and Conservatives and riding a wave of resentment toward Tory Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
