According to the Nevada Department of Transportation, U.S. 95 north from State Route 160 to Tonopah remains closed indefinitely, even though the fire is out. Multiple local and state agencies responded to the fire Sunday afternoon at U.S. Ecology…The industrial waste plant processed hazardous and radioactive waste for 30 years before closing in 1992. Nye County officials say the fire was burning eight miles from populated areas.
