Israeli police ban Palestinians under 50 from entering al-Aqsa Mosque – YouTube
Israeli police have banned all Palestinian men under 50 from attending al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem al-Quds for Friday prayers.
Israel announced the re-imposition of the ban on Thursday. Tel Aviv says it also plans to bar Palestinians from the Old City of Jerusalem al-Quds. Israeli forces have been deployed since early Friday morning around the Old City, specifically in the alleys leading to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Tel Aviv says police will act accordingly with any tensions that may arise.
Fresh wave of violence in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv increase tensions
A Palestinian stabbed four Israelis with a screwdriver on Thursday before a soldier shot and killed him amid fresh violence that prompted Israel’s premier to bar ministers and lawmakers from a Jerusalem holy site at the heart of the tensions.
