Military blimp prompted power-down at Salem Twp. nuclear plant | 30 Oct 2015 | The wayward military blimp that wreaked havoc in and around Columbia County led to a power-down of Unit 2 at the Susquehanna Nuclear power plant in Salem Township as a precautionary measure. Todd Martin, spokesman for the plant's owner, Talen Energy, said the operator of the regional power grid, PJM Interconnection, directed the company at approximately 2:30 p.m. to reduce the amount of energy Susquehanna 2 was putting into the grid.
