Netanyahu: Hitler Didn’t Want to Exterminate the Jews

Why is Benjamin Netanyahu trying to whitewash Hitler?

https://electronicintifada.net/blogs/ali-abunimah/why-benjamin-netanyahu-trying-whitewash-hitler

Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly asserted that Adolf Hitler had no intention of exterminating Europe’s Jews until a Palestinian persuaded him to do it.

The Israeli prime minister’s attempt to whitewash Hitler and lay the blame for the Holocaust at the door of Palestinians signals a major escalation of his incitement against and demonization of the people living under his country’s military and settler-colonial rule.

It also involves a good deal of Holocaust denial.

In a speech to the World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem on Tuesday, Netanyahu asserted that Haj Amin al-Husseini convinced Hitler to carry out the killings of 6 million Jews.

Al-Husseini was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the highest clerical authority dealing with religious issues pertaining to the Muslim community and holy sites during the 1920s and ‘30s, when Palestine was under British rule.

He was appointed to the role by Herbert Samuel, the avowed Zionist who was the first British High Commissioner of Palestine.

In the video above, Netanyahu claims that al-Husseini “had a central role in fomenting the final solution. He flew to Berlin. Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here.’ ‘So what should I do with them?’ he asked. ‘Burn them!’”

There is no record of such a conversation whatsoever, and Netanyahu provides no evidence that it ever took place.

The Mufti did meet Hitler, once, but their 95-minute conversation took place on 28 November 1941. Husseini used it to try to secure the Führer’s support for Arab independence, as historian Philip Mattar explains in his book The Mufti of Jerusalem.

By then, Hitler’s plans to exterminate the Jews were already well under way.
Hitler’s orders

In her classic history The War Against the Jews, Lucy Davidowicz writes about the preparations among Hitler’s top lieutenants to carry out the genocide: “Sometime during that eventful summer of 1941, perhaps even as early as May, Himmler summoned Höss to Berlin and, in privacy, told him ‘that the Führer had given the order for a Final Solution of the Jewish Question,’ and that ‘we, the SS, must carry out the order.’”

She adds: “In the late summer of 1941, addressing the assembled men of the Einsatzkommandos at Nikolayev, he [Himmler] ‘repeated to them the liquidation order, and pointed out that the leaders and men who were taking part in the liquidation bore no personal responsibility for the execution of this order. The responsibility was his alone, and the Führer’s.’”

Davidowicz also explains that “In the summer of 1941, a new enterprise was launched – the construction of the Vernichtungslager – the annihilation camp. Two civilians from Hamburg came to Auschwitz that summer to teach the staff how to handle Zyklon B, and in September, in the notorious Block 11, the first gassings were carried out on 250 patients from the hospital and on 600 Russian prisoners of war, probably ‘Communists’ and Jews …”

According to Netanyahu’s fabricated – and Holocaust denialist – version of history, none of this could have happened. It was all the Mufti’s idea!
The Mufti in Zionist propaganda

Why would Netanyahu bring up the Mufti now and in the process whitewash Hitler?

The bogus claim that the Mufti had to persuade reluctant Nazis to kill Jews has been pushed by other anti-Palestinian propagandists, notably retired Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz.

As Columbia University professor Joseph Massad notes in his 2006 book The Persistence of the Palestinian Question, Haj Amin al-Husseini has long been a favorite theme of Zionist and Israeli propaganda.

Husseini “provided the Israelis with their best propaganda linking the Palestinians with the Nazis and European anti-Semitism,” Massad observes.

The Mufti fled British persecution and went to Germany during the war years.

Massad writes that al-Husseini “attempted to obtain promises from the Germans that they would not support the establishment of a Jewish National Home in Palestine. Documents that the Jewish Agency produced in 1946 purporting to show that the Mufti had a role in the extermination of Jews did no such thing; the only thing these unsigned letters by the Mufti showed was his opposition to Nazi Germany’s and Romania’s allowing Jews to emigrate to Palestine.”

Yet, he adds, “the Mufti continues to be represented by Israeli propagandists as having participated in the extermination of European Jews.”……………..

Israeli forces shot dead five Palestinians, including two teenagers in the occupied West Bank and a man in Gaza, on Tuesday.

Israel alleged that four of them attempted attacks on army and settlement sites.

An Israeli settler also died in disputed circumstances.

The latest deaths bring to nearly 50 the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces and settlers since the start of October.

Many have died in what human rights groups have condemned as extrajudicial executions by Israel.

Israeli forces shot and injured at least nine Palestinians with live ammunition on Tuesday at protests in the West Bank.

The Battle for Al-Aqsa : Information Clearing House – ICH

The core of Zionism is the religious myth of “Jews as God’s chosen people, and Palestine as their God’s promised land.” One wonders not just how arrogantly crazy the human mind who conceived this rubbish, but also how naïve and stupid are the masses, who took this idiocy as their own religion.

Brainwashing the Jews with such an idiotic religion for the last two thousand years is no longer enough for the Zionists to accomplish their Zionist project of Greater Israel in the Middle East. They need tangible proof that confirm and assert Jewish relationship to the land. This explains Israel’s great interest in archeological excavations throughout Palestine and mainly around and underneath Al-Aqsa Compound looking for an evidence of their alleged Solomon temple.

For the last 48 years an army of Israeli and Western archeologists and volunteers have been digging around the Compound, and digging crisscrossing tunnels under the Mosque threatening its collapse but had found only Palestinian, ancient Egyptian, Roman, Persian and Islamic artifacts. There is no shred of evidence of their alleged temple otherwise they would have greatly boosted of such evidence. Yet to inforce the brainwashing process they created within the tunnels some type of a museum with a small three dimensional replica of their alleged temple.

As a last and only resort the Zionist leaders have is to forcibly take control of the Al-Aqsa Compound, cause its collapse through some means of earthquake and build their own temple. The best time to do this is the present when Arab regimes are either neutralized like Iraq, Egypt and North African states, busy fighting Zionist/American proxy terrorist groups such as ISIS in Syria, and fighting each other such as the so called Saudi/Arab coalition states attacking Yemen.

Since mid-September (last month) religious extremist Israeli settlers were encouraged by some Israeli MPs, and were released to force their way into the Al-Aqsa Compound, under the protection of fully armed Israeli forces, to perform their religious dances “reclaiming” their ownership to the Compound. The intensity of the resulted Palestinian Intifada was not expected.

The new generations of Palestinians are fed up with the 67 years old Israeli occupation, colonial state violence and ethnic cleansing, settlers’ colonization, apartheid racism and discrimination, checkpoint humiliations, wars, home demolitions, land confiscations, imprisonments, international bias and injustice, abandonment by their brethren Arabs, and oppressed by the Israeli proxy Palestinian Authority, who adopt the policies of non-effective non-violent political struggle, the 20 years old futile peace negotiations, and the extended had for peace while being totally ignored. They learned from previous Intifada generations that active violent resistance is the only method of gaining their freedom and their rights. So hundreds of thousands of young men as well as women are taking to the streets of every major Palestinian town in West Bank, in Gaza Strip and in 1948 occupied Palestinian cities, in demonstrations, facing with their bare hands well trained fully armed Israeli soldiers and snipers.

These new Palestinian generations understand very well that the battle for Al-Aqsa is the battle for Al-Quds (Jerusalem), is the battle for whole Palestine, and their battle for freedom. The price is precious blood. Dr. Elias Akleh

Ignoring Ruthless Israeli Collective Punishment

by Stephen Lendman

Western and Israeli officials blame Palestinians for ongoing Israeli high crimes, ignoring their longstanding suffering at the hands of a brutal occupier.

They’re being killed or injured by live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and toxic tear gas, armed only with stones, their courage to resist and will to survive.

They’re terrorized and murdered daily in cold blood, the body count nearing 50, around 2,000 injured, mostly by live fire, thousands more from toxic tear gas exposure.

Weeks of Israeli provocations and state-sponsored terror show no signs of ending. Neighborhoods are being surrounded and isolated.

Cement blocks, extra checkpoints and other barriers prevent free movement. Accessing workplaces, schools and hospitals for the sick and injured is severely impeded.

On October 19, Huda Muhammad Darwish, aged 65, died because Israeli-imposed blockade prevented her from getting medical treatment in time to save her. Toxic tear gas inhalation killed her.

Israel continues murdering Palestinians, alleging stabbing incidents or attempts most often proved untrue.

On Tuesday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Israel – to lend support to its ruthless campaign, refusing to denounce its killing machine, releasing a video before his visit, pathetically addressing “the dangerous escalation in violence across the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel and especially Jerusalem.”

Saying he’s “dismayed, as we all should be, when I see young people, children, picking up weapons and seeking to kill. Violence will only undermine the legitimate Palestinian aspirations for statehood and the longing of Israelis for security.”

In other words, he’s entirely blaming Palestinian victims for Israeli high crimes, the way he always supports imperial lawlessness, continuing his record of failure and betrayal of UN Charter principles throughout his deplorable tenure – a reliable imperial tool, why Washington installed him.

B’Tselem reported on how Israeli soldiers facilitate and at times aid settler attacks. Its cameraman recorded video footage from October 6 – 10 – showing young Israeli settlers approaching Hebron’s Wadi a-Nasarah neighborhood, afternoons and evenings, each time throwing stones and glass bottles at Palestinian houses, while swearing and using racial slurs.

Soldiers and police were seen nearby, watching, doing nothing to stop them. On October 9, soldiers and settlers were seen together. Palestinians responded to stones thrown at them by hurling them back in return.

Soldiers ignored settler violence, fired toxic tear gas at Palestinians. B’Tselem commented, saying “(t)his latest installment in a longstanding campaign of violence by settlers in Hebron – which lasted five days and received military backing – reflects the ongoing reality of daily life in the city and serves as an extreme example of what life is like throughout the West Bank.”

“Israeli security forces routinely allow settlers to harm Palestinians or their property, often accompanying the attackers, providing backup and protecting them; in some cases, they even actively join the attack.”

“Given this complex reality, any attempt to portray the military as a buffer between neighboring communities that live in conflict is divorced from reality.”

“The power balance in the West Bank is asymmetrical and unbalanced. Security forces provide full backup for violence instigated by one party, the settlers, against the other party – the Palestinians.”

Israelis throw stones, bottles, other objects and firebombs at Palestinians with impunity. Netanyahu’s cabinet and Knesset members approved up to 20 years imprisonment for Palestinians convicted of stone-throwing with intent to commit harm, children treated like adults.
