Rubio Says Media Is Super PAC For Democrats, Media Take To Twitter To Prove It

(Before It's News)

At CNBC’s “Your Money, Your Vote: The Republican Presidential Debate” on Wednesday, the candidates took several very effective shots at the moderators in particular and the media in general. One truly stand-out moment along these lines came from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100%. The other fantastic takedown was from Marco Rubio.

It was Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 93%‘s words that really got the members of the mainstream press fired up, though.

The Democrats have the ultimate super PAC; it’s called the mainstream media. Last week Hillary Clinton went before a committee. She admitted she had sent emails to her family, saying, Hey, this attack on Benghazi was caused by Al-Qaeda-like elements. She spent over a week telling the families of those victims and the American people that it was because of the video, and yet the mainstream media is going around saying it was the greatest week in Hillary Clinton’s campaign. It was the week she got exposed as a liar. She has a super PAC helping her out, the American mainstream media.

The media hate this on many levels. The foremost reason is that they are so pitifully, irrevocably in the tank for Hillary Clinton. They are invested in her. She is their new The One. But they still have to at least make a token effort at journalism. So as a result, they have come kicking and screaming to the stories of Hillary’s emails, of Benghazi, of deception. They think you don’t know. That’s the best part. They think you don’t remember.

Do you not? Do you not remember how many times a talking head has been on MSNBC or CNN or network news and downplayed every aspect of the email story? Sure, they covered it. They covered Reverend Wright, too. Remember how the would apologize to then-candidate Obama for even asking the question?

Still, they protest, dare I say, too much?

Neutralized. That is priceless. ‘We’re not biased toward democrats, we’re just saying that one democrat saying nobody should ask a different democrat any more questions about a scandal has totally ended the scandal. Why can’t you understand that??’

In the words of the internet: Ugh! Also, totally proving Rubio’s point.

And here, check out Slate’s reaction:

I mean, that doesn’t even make sense. Unless .. well unless you consider Slate to be part of the “mainstream.” Do people do that?

Weird.

Salon, too, immediately pushed back.

The article itself will make you choke. I literally ran out of evens. I had to go to the store and buy more so I could even. But even so, I Still. Can’t. EVEN.

Josh Greenman of the New York Daily News (who has an excellent Twitter if you are interested), makes a more subtle wrong argument.

Of course, declaring them a winner of the GOP debate is non-diagnostic. Anyone they pick as the winner is still a Republican, and every Republican says the media is biased. But that’s a minor point. The bigger problem with his argument is that a simple task like scoring a debate is not where the media exercise their natural hatred of Republicans. It is in the questions they ask at the debate. It is how they can say something totally incorrect (Harwood) and not correct it on air, leaving thousands of viewers (he says optimistically) with the complete wrong impression.

It is in how they carefully repeat Democrat talking points and framing like “war on women”, or how they use leftist language like calling gay marriage a “civil right” before any such thing had been decided by the court. It is how they casually refer to negative commentary about the radical practice of Islam as “Islamaphobia”. The list could go on for pages here. We didn’t even get into the number of press luminaries who are married to or dating or related to members of Democrat campaigns or staffs. This doesn’t even touch the pipeline from leftist college education to leftist publication to mainstream press. Not to mention the elevation of left bloggers to the MSM. There is too much. It’s the very reason Andrew Breitbart was so merciless in his prosecution of the media.

The press is supposed to be tough and hostile and fair and truthful and informative and responsible. All of those. Not just some. It is mind-boggling to me as a voracious consumer of media that anyone an possibly deny the plain fact of media bias against right wing ideas, and media embrace of left wing ideas. It is self-evident. It is readily apparent. It is, in short, the truth.

Megyn Kelly was tough at Fox’s GOP debate. She acted responsibly. Some complained about her questions. I am not among them. But no sane person can say that tough but fair is a practice common in the media. It just isn’t.

There’s only one reason to deny left-wing media bias, and that reason is, logically enough, left-wing media bias.
