The Bush campaign is running on fumes
The reek of flopsweat wafting off the Bush campaign has reached the point where the EPA has declared it a Superfund site.
For reasons known only to the geniuses running Jeb Bush’s campaign and SuperPAC they have reached one of two conclusions: either Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 93%‘s campaign is the only thing holding them back and they have to kill it or they see Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 93% as a disloyal, lèse majesté committing little f*** who stabbed them in the back and they know they can’t win but they are going to take Rubio down with them. Stupid. Vindictive. Stupid. Vindictive. What shall we choose? Or is it both?
This week the Bush folks tried out a Rubio = Obama meme that my colleague, Jay Caruso, laughed at here. The new hottness is a Twitter account called @IsMarcoWorking run by the Bush SuperPAC called Barely Able to Rise Right to Rise. The idea is that Rubio is somehow committing a grave offense against something by skipping some votes in order to campaign.
A senator running for president missing votes is not unusual. It is also a fairly meaningless concept unless the vote is tied or something. The senator’s staff does the moving of legislation. Via the miracle of teleconferencing software embedded in every conceivable electronic device, the senator can meet with virtually anyone while on the campaign trail. For the record this is what some attendance figures look like:
This silly and juvenile attack reeks of #FAIL. One hopes that Jeb Bush mans up and suspends his campaign while he still has some credibility left.
