Ever wonder how the #BlackLivesMatter terrorists and provocateurs are able to stay so fat and sleek without any apparent source of income? Sure, some celebrites, like Beyonce and Jay Z, are donating to the cause. But celebrity contributions are never going to provide either the volume or reliability of cash flow that such a movement needs. The main source of funding is the vast array of “philanthropies” affiliated with the anti-American left are starting to pour money into the movement.

Essence Magazine, for instance, reports:

Google is extending a helping hand to fund the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

The company announced that its charitable component,, is donating $2.35 million in grants to activist organizations that specialize in improving the circumstances of racial injustices that have swept the nation.

The Washington Times reported on how George Soros provided in excess of $30 million in seed money to groups affiliated with #BlackLivesMatter.

Now that #BlackLivesMatter has shown that it has the capacity to be a disruptive force in American society and increase misery and danger for black Americans living in inner cities, the deep pocketed Progressive donors are looking to increase their funding:

Some of the biggest donors on the left plan to meet behind closed doors next week in Washington with leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement and their allies to discuss funding the burgeoning protest movement, POLITICO has learned.

The meetings are taking place at the annual winter gathering of the Democracy Alliance major liberal donor club, which runs from Tuesday evening through Saturday morning and is expected to draw Democratic financial heavyweights, including Tom Steyer and Paul Egerman.

The DA, as the club is known in Democratic circles, is recommending its donors step up check writing to a handful of endorsed groups that have supported the Black Lives Matter movement. And the club and some of its members also are considering ways to funnel support directly to scrappier local groups that have utilized confrontational tactics to inject their grievances into the political debate.

According to a Democracy Alliance draft agenda obtained by POLITICO, movement leaders will be featured guests at a Tuesday dinner with major donors. The dinner, which technically precedes the official conference kickoff, will focus on “what kind of support and resources are needed from the allied funders during this critical moment of immediate struggle and long-term movement building.”

The groups that will be represented include the Black Youth Project 100, The Center for Popular Democracy and the Black Civic Engagement Fund, according to the organizer, a DA member named Leah Hunt-Hendrix. An heir to a Texas oil fortune, Hunt-Hendrix helps lead a coalition of mostly young donors called Solidaire that focuses on movement building. It’s donated more than $200,000 to the Black Lives Matter movement since Brown’s killing. According to its entry on a philanthropy website, more than $61,000 went directly to organizers and organizations on the ground in Ferguson and Baltimore, where the fatal police shooting of Freddie Gray in April sparked a more recent wave of Black Lives-related protests. An additional $115,000 went to groups that have sprung up to support the movement.

There has always been a suspicion that #BlackLivesMatter was an astro-turf group. The three people most closely associated with leadership roles in #BlackLivesMatter,  Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi, are established radicals who haven’t held a job. Ever. The link to Soros and now to Democracy Alliance indicates that the anti-American progressives who rule the Democrat party have decided that it is to their advantage to ensure that #BlackLivesMatter is able to continue along its current trajectory.

This is not all that surprising. Progressives have long held the conceit that if there is enough civil disorder that America will turn to Democrats for leadership. Was it a coincidence that the Occupy Wall Street nonsense started during the primary season for the 2012 elections? Or that Obama allied himself with them? Hardly.

Within the progressive bubble, the success of #BlackLivesMatter and the demonstrations at University of Missouri must have Democrat operatives positively orgasmic. They are seeing the demographic groups that they count on for electoral success (they refer to this as the Rising America Electorate and it consists of unmarried women, racial and ethnic minorities, sexual deviants, and millenials or, as someone once said they are “largely poor, uneducated, and easy to command”) demoralized by the failed leadership of Obama. Like the OWS movement, the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the developing #MillionStudentMarch protests focus on racial grievance mongering and the desire of people who are unwilling to work to take stuff from people who are. A successful college protest movement along with anti-police protests could, conceivably, energize these people to turn out to vote in November and that they will vote for Hillary Clinton. Because street demonstrations really were key in Humphrey kicking Nixon’s ass in 1968.
