CNN Türk news has been fined after a lawyer said that the banned Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) was not a terrorist organization during a live broadcast. The lawyer was also charged with spreading terrorist propaganda and could be sent to prison for seven years. Political analyst and Middle East expert Bashdar Ismaeel says the Turkish government is using national security as a way to punish opponents.
