The head of state, congratulating the citizens of the country, expressed special thanks to those who celebrates the New year abroad, including servicemen of the Russian Federation in Syria.
“Today I would like to congratulate those of our soldiers who are fighting international terrorism, defending national interests of Russia in the far frontiers, showing determination, will, strength of character,” — Putin said.
He noted that these qualities need to be possessed by all Russian people if the country is to be successful. Speaking about the outgoing year, the head of state recalled that this was the year of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war. “Our history, experience of our fathers and grandfathers, their unity in difficult times, and strength of spirit are a great example to us. They helped us and will help us to adequately respond to modern challenges,” — said Vladimir Putin.
He urged the Russians to make a toast for prosperity and welfare of Russia.
