No matter how this election turns out, it will have been the most amusing one in maybe forever. For the first time we’ve seen the nexus of internet access, arrested development, and politics. As you know, Donald Trump received the coveted Vladimir Putin endorsement earlier in the week. Putin, who has developed internet trolling as an national security asset, was undoubtedly trying to troll Trump and/or the United States. Trump, either because he knew or because he didn”t know he was being trolled, jumped on it. Now John Kasich has joined the fray with his Trump-Putin 2016 website. For instance:

It is funny though perhaps a little heavy handed, non-surprising that it was produced by the campaign of Mister Light-touch himself. It seems to halfway believe that it will actually damage Trump or get his attention… from what we’ve seen those are doubtful propositions. But, on the positive side, it is showing that our candidates are learning how to operate outside the norms of how presidential campaigns were run and that is a very good thing.
