I don’t pretend to understand the arcane inner machinations of liberal voters, but it seems like this is a pretty big deal. The George Soros organization MoveOn.org has endorsed Bernie Sanders, based on a pretty overwhelming vote total of its voting members. According to the group’s website, it did not endorse a candidate at all in 2004 since its voting members apparently could not agree on a candidate. However, in 2008, they apparently endorsed Barack Obama.
What this means, essentially, is that twice MoveOn has emphatically rejected Hillary Clinton as a candidate. From their website:
With a record-setting 78.6 percent of 340,665 votes cast by the MoveOn membership, Senator Bernie Sanders has won MoveOn.org Political Action’s endorsement for president with the largest total and widest margin in MoveOn history.
MoveOn.org only endorses candidates based on votes by our members. Our only previous presidential endorsement during a Democratic primary was for Barack Obama, in early 2008. In 2004, no Democratic candidate reached the threshold for an endorsement.
They go on to list five reasons they are supporting Bernie, which of course are all moronic, but hey. If you wanted reasonable political analysis, you wouldn’t be reading the MoveOn website anyway.
MoveOn’s announcement comes as Hillary Clinton’s embarrassing slide in the polls continues. Monmouth released a poll today showing that Bernie Sanders’ lead in NH is now a commanding 14 points. Yesterday IBD/TIPP released a poll showing that her national lead has completely evaporated. Given that every Democrat in the field with even a passable chance of winning intentionally passed in order to give Hillary an easy walk to the nomination, the fact that she is losing to an uncharismatic, old, pasty non-entity like Sanders has to be causing panic within the Democrat establishment even worse than Trump is causing in the GOP.
And MoveOn just threw another log on the fire.
