The Transpacific Partnership (TPP), The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) represent the biggest power grab by multinational corporations in the history of the planet.

As things stand today, corporations will be the dictators -pun intended- in the 21st century. They will dictate to governments and people all over the world what they can and can’t do about every aspect of their lives. Healthcare, food, trade, information, agriculture, manufacturing and any other area of people’s daily lives will be governed over by corporate dictates.

When all three of these treaties, whose details are secret to everyone but corporate leaders, are fully approved and implemented, corporations will officially be under the control of two-thirds of the worlds resources. Should corporations have their way, they will be able to sue national governments for actions that are now taken for granted, such as raise salaries, improve working conditions and oversee safety testing of products that are sold worldwide.

Under the rules established in all three so-called trade agreements, which are about many things but trade itself, the United States dictates that its corporations will be the most benefited as all participating countries will have to open their markets to beef from animals raised with growth hormone, fruit and vegetables contaminated with unsafe genetically engineered organisms and other herbicide and pesticide-laden food.

Other areas that will be affected by these fake trade agreements include water safety, or lack of it, education, postal and public health services. Under the conditions established in the healthcare area is that corporations intend to guarantee the denial of service for certain segments of the population, including the elderly and people living in underdeveloped countries.

According to Matt Kennard, from the Center for Investigative Journalism, under these agreements, corporations not only want to lock in more power, but they also want to make it impossible for people and national governments to reverse the changes that are going to give them power.

In this sense, the massive approval of these treaties would certainly mean the codification of a much anticipated corporate world government. “What is democratic about an enormous imposition of power on countries whose citizens have no way of knowing what;s going on, of debating it or influencing their government in its decision.

That’s antidemocratic,” explains journalist John Pilger. “The history of these agreements show that they are very difficult to change, unless people can see what is in them,” asserts Wikileaks’ Julian Assange. “That is why they are kept secret, because when the contents are revealed it generates an opposition.” Assange’s organization is raising 100,000 euros for details on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, whose details are widely unknown.

“This is something enormous, it is about a final control, and it is the United States saying, there may be another power in the world, but we will be the ultimate power,” says Pilger. The approval of all three agreements by signatory partner states is not about giving one corporations the power to invade a market and destroy competition, but about American corporations governing over any and all elected governments in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The advent of new economic powers such as China and emerging countries like Brazil and South Africa drove the United States to seek the formation of a global bloc of nations who were willing to adhere to its commercial and trade wishes.

While in Asia the US intends to drive economic activity away from China, in Latina America the US governments seeks to move all commercial activity away from Brazil. The creation of organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and others of similar stature, sought to consolidate American power in those areas, so that its corporations would have an easy ride into global markets.

However, the rise of China, Russia and the BRICS, prompted the US government to work ever more closely with their corporate handlers to consolidate their power even further.

The ‘democratization’ of organizations such as the WTO with China and India becoming more influential in the decisions being made during its meetings, forced the United States to become more aggressive in its intent to recover power.

The TPP, TTIP and TISA seek to circumvent democratic institutions in all member-states by mandating that, either by Executive Order or congressional approval, countries will give the green light to the passage of a generalized corporate takeover of their most important affairs.

The three big T’s, are part of a new geopolitical war, with battles being waged all over the planet. On one side there are US-backed multinational corporations whose aim is to destroy nation-states, sovereignty and democracy with the complicity of mercenary politicians, and on the other hand there are the people of the world who know nothing about the treaties or how they will impact their lives now and in the future.

“The basic idea that comes across from reading US strategy papers, is the construction of a new grand enclosure and to put inside this grand enclosure the United States and 51 other countries, 1.6 billion people and two thirds of global GDP,” says Assange.

“The American goal is to integrate Latin America away from Brazil and towards the United States, to integrated southeast Asia away from China and towards the US, and to integrate western Europe away from Eurasia as a whole and towards the Atlantic.” “I find […]
