Turkey Breaches Ceasefire in Syria

Breaching the US/Russia brokered cessation of hostilities doesn’t surprise. Turkey began illegally shelling cross-border over two weeks ago. Erdogan and his clown prince prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu ludicrously claim the right to attack Syrian territory and Kurdish YPG anti-terrorist freedom fighters to defend Turkish national security – naked aggression by any standard. On Sunday, Russian Center for Truce in Syria head General Sergey Kuralenko said “(o)vernight (on) February 28, the Russian Center for reconciling the warring sides in Syria received information on an attack from the Turkish territory on the Syrian town of Et Tell el-Abyad by armed units with the support of large-caliber artillery.” “This information was subsequently verified and confirmed through several channels, including representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces,” including Kurds, Arabs and other ethnic groups in the area. Erdogan does nothing belligerent without US permission or complicity. Moscow demands an explanation from Washington about Turkey’s grave breach – continuing to shell Syrian positions in flagrant violation of cessation of hostilities terms. Turkish military sources denied clear evidence of its aggression. Its regime continues harboring ISIS and other terrorists, giving them safe haven, arming them, letting them pass freely cross-border into Syria. According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, scores of ISIS terrorists entered Syria from Turkey over the weekend. Kurdish YPG fighters successfully repelled them. They regained control over more areas in Raqqa province, routing ISIS elements. Syrian ground forces maintain their advance on multiple fronts. Russian air power provides important support against all Security Council designated terrorist groups. The struggle to preserve Syrian sovereignty continues. The Illusion of a Ceasefire Terrorism is the use of violence, instability, chaos and intimidation in pursuit of political aims – a US speciality. All anti-Syrian forces armed and supported by Washington and its rogue allies are terrorists. Endless war continues, ebbing in some areas, raging in others. Resumption of full-blown conflict is just a matter of time. Ceasefire and so-called peace initiatives are illusory. Diplomacy won’t resolve Syria’s conflict. Washington wants war, regime change, and Syrian sovereignty replaced by US-controlled puppet governance. Its objective remains unchanged. It continues using ISIS and other terrorist elements as imperial foot soldiers. Head of Russia’s Khmeimim air base in Syria, General Sergey Kuralenko, said anti-government forces shelled Damascus residential areas on Saturday for hours. Russia halted airstrikes in areas controlled by anti-government forces agreeing to ceasefire terms – for how long remains to be seen as breaches are sure to continue and intensify. Dozens of Russian drones are monitoring ceasefire areas. Hotlines were established between Russia’s Khmeimim air base and a US Jordanian facility. Terrorist elements continue attacking areas controlled by YPG Kurdish forces in northern Syria near Turkey’s border – Ankara facilitating their movement cross border. It’s providing armaments and other material support, with full backing and encouragement from Washington. US airstrikes continue targeting Syrian infrastructure and government targets on the phony pretext of combating ISIS. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported terrorist attacks in Hama, Deir Ezzor and Aleppo over the weekend. Heavy fighting continues in Raqqa and Lattakia provinces, Syrian and Hezbollah forces along with YPG fighters combating ISIS and other terrorist groups. Russia’s war on terrorism targets areas controlled by anti-government elements not party to the cessation of hostilities. Government forces are advancing steadily, retaking areas lost earlier, eliminating terrorists, cutting off their supply lines, defeating them decisively. The campaign to liberate Syria continues. Cessation of hostilities and peace talks if begun change nothing. As long as US-supported terrorist elements infest Syria, government forces and Russian air power continue pounding them. Preserving Syrian sovereignty depends on it.
