Pull out the checkbook for Trump: About those fundraising letters you get from Republican organizations, candidates, and PACS. It’s possible you’ll get one soon showing proceeds going to Donald Trump. So get that check filled out and ready. NY Times says Gov. Chris Christie thinks Trump, who currently self funds his campaign, may seek cash if he becomes the nominee:
“I sense that once we get to a general election campaign, that his posture may become different” given the scope and demands of a national campaign, and “how well-funded Hillary Clinton will be on the other side.”
A former Marine takes on former President: Benghazi is still a problem for candidate Clinton as this video at America Mirror demonstrates. Bill Clinton was stumping for his wife in S.C. when a veteran asked what his wife was going to do about the VA. Bill Clinton asked the vet what he thought should be done. What followed was the vet talking about Benghazi, audience boos, and Clinton telling the vet to listen, saying, “Can I just saying something? That’s what’s wrong: his mind has been poisoned by lies and he won’t listen.” At one point a women was ejected from the rally when she turned on Bill:
“Hillary lied over four coffins,” she said as a man near her yelled “Bullshit.” “She lied and she lied to those families. So all those families are liars?” she said as Clinton tried to stop her and a Secret Service agent moved closer to the former president.
Oscar Ballot: You can find the ballot here, at the NY Times. I am not going to put down all the titles and the names. Its for you to mark you favorites and get ready for the big event tomorrow night. I will say this about the ballot, near the title to every movie is a review so if you had thought about renting, or catching one on a movie channel or downloading you can review it and see if it catches your eye. I haven’t been to a theater since the 2nd Lord of the Rings. Just don’t like them anymore. Although, I might rent the Star Wars and Mad Max sometime since they sound fun.
Hates crime: In Albany, NY three women who claimed to be victims of a “hate crime” found themselves arrested. The 20-year olds told police they were beaten by ten to 12 people while riding a city bus, called racial slurs and claimed the bus driver did nothing. Along with telling police the story, one went on facebook and gave an account of the incident. Because of the supposed assault The Patch says #BlackLivesMatter protesters rallied, even Hillary Clinton sent out a tweet in support. Here’s the problem:
“Authorities interviewed 35 passengers on the bus, reviewed videotape from 12 bus security camera videos, reviewed four videos taken by passengers on cell phones, reviewed university surveillance footage, examined UAlbany building access records and reviewed audio recordings.”
There was NO hate crime. The three women weren’t assaulted. They were the ones allegedly beating up a 19-year-old Congers woman even while others on the bus tried to stop them.
Trumpism of the Day: You could call it tort reform. The GOP frontrunner maintains he loves a free press, notes The Hill. But he does take issue with some parts of it. And so, he plans to change libel laws.
“We’re going to open up those libels laws,” he added. “So that when The New York Times writes a hit piece, which is a total disgrace, or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money.”
