Sure feels like a slow news day to me, most of the country is at home enjoying some extra time with family.  Not me, I am plugging away in the office and no matter how much I skim through the bowels of the internet I just can’t seem to find much that excites me.  Correction what I should say is much that excites me that has not already been reported on to death.  So hear are a few quickies to help you pass your Presidents Day blues away if you are also stuck working as I am.

Jeb! Many have been quick to pile on Gov. Bush in response to his comments in regards to filling the seat left by the passing of Justice Scalia.  Jeb is being quoted as saying “he does not care who Obama nominates for SCOTUS”  I am not a Bush supporter but when I read that title I was taken aback.  How could you not care.  Is he not even trying to get elected anymore?  As with most things though the headline was a bit misleading.  Here is the whole conversation that is pulled out of context.

JEB BUSH: I think President Obama is going to submit a nominee and in all likelihood this person will be out of the mainstream and he’ll be rejected by the Senate. That’s his prerogative. He has every right to do it, and the Senate has every right not to confirm that person. That’s what I said. He clearly has the power to do it, but given his choice of Supreme Court justices in the past the Senate of the United States should not confirm someone whose out of the mainstream.

DANA BASH: But if I could just clarify, right now it sounds as though…

JEB BUSH: Yeah.

DANA BASH: …the Republicans who run the Senate aren’t even going to schedule a vote. You think that one should be scheduled?

JEB BUSH: It’s up to Mitch McConnell. That’s really not important to me.

So lets pump the brakes people.  He says he doesn’t care who he nominates because if that person is not the person whom republicans want they will simply refuse to appoint them.  It is actually a rational conservative response.  The President has the right to nominate whomever he chooses and the Senate has the right to act on that nomination appropriately.  So why is every one bashing him for simply pointing out that the separation of power will work in our teams favor this time?

Kanye West is broke.  Or at least claiming to be on Twitter.  The brash outspoken rapper/reality star took to twitter to beg for money from billionaire Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg.  His posts claim he is $51,000,000 in personal debt, and he wants Mark to invest $1,000,000,000 in him personally. Please keep in mind that he made this request to his TWITTER followers to the founder of FACEBOOK!  This guy is off his rocker, and if it is true that he is financially ruined it really could not happen to a nicer guy.  Here are some of his ramblings from this weekend, in some he actually compares himself to Paul… you know the guy who wrote the New Testament.

Mark Zuckerberg invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas

Mark Zuckerberg I know it’s your bday but can you please call me by 2mrw…

You love hip hop, you love my art… I am your favorite artist but you watch me barely breathe and still play my album in your house …

one of the coolest things you could ever do is to help me in my time of need

I am the Jordan and Steph Curry of music, meaning I’m the best of 2 generations.

I’m this generation’s Disney… I want to bring dope shit to the world…

God speed Mr. West you are truly an epic example of fame and wealth being bestowed upon someone who does not have the mental capacities to understand the world around them.  If times are really tight though there is always that porn star wife of yours… maybe she can float you a few bucks until the next album drops.

Oh Elliot Spitzer why cant you just go away.  You remember Elliot don’t you?  Gov of one of the largest states in our union… exposed for being a serial prostitute enthusiast.  Well he is back in the news again this time for allegedly beating and choking his Russian girl friend in a swanky New York hotel.  It is amazing what men will through away for sex.  Power, wealth, family, pride… it all goes out the window.  Gov. Spitzer you need help and no amount of Russian twinkies or high priced call girls is ever going to fill that void you feel in life.

So Red Staters enjoy your Presidents Day,  if you find any under-reported stories out there share them below… I am gonna need something to get me through the rest of my day.
