UPDATE: No sooner had I written this than the news reported that Todd Palin was injured in a serious crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family. I will be pulling this story from the front page of RedState but it will still be accessible for anyone who has shared it on social media so that this update will be visible.
Donald Trump announced the cancellation of a rally featuring Sarah Palin today with a remarkably abrupt and bizarre statement.

That does not sound, to me, like a statement announcing the cancellation of a single event. It sounds like the cancellation of all future events featuring Sarah Palin. “Best of luck in your future endeavors,” and all of that.
The rumor mill has it that Palin has been upset by the fact that Trump has been sending her to backwater hollows to campaign for the rubes and refusing to appear on stage with her after a series of high profile embarrassing moments (including her bizarre anti-Steve King rant on the day of the Iowa caucuses). Meanwhile, of course, Trump is sharing the stage with Chris Christie, who used to be perceived as a serious person, whenever he can.
Palin miffed that Trump campaigned today with Christie but wouldn’t appear on stage with her? https://t.co/EtLR8iEYWJ

We’ll see, but it sure looks like Trump won’t have Palin’s incoherent ramblings around to “help” him out anymore.
