Republicans Completely Give Up Fighting Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee

The resolve is starting to crumble. What started as resolute opposition to Obama’s nominee has become surrender.
There are now more than 7 GOP Senators who have agreed to sit down and discuss the nomination with Judge Eric Garland and White House officials. The turncoats are Senators Collins (R-ME), Flake (R-AZ), Kirk (R-IL), Portman (R-OH), Ayotte (R-NH), Inhofe (R-OK), and Cochran (R-MS). More are anticipated to follow.
First, Mitch McConnell claimed there would be no vote at all. Then, he went to meet with the President to talk it over. Now, even more Republicans are agreeing to sit down with the nominee and “hear him out.”
All across the country today and tomorrow, leftist organizations are holding protests to try to convince even more Republican Senators to turn on the leadership and approve Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.
Even John Kasich has come out and said that if he wins the Presidency – which is a long shot – he’d consider re-nominating Merrick Garland to fill Justice Scalia’s seat.
It’s actually going to happen. The GOP is going to surrender and approve this leftist judge!
We have gone into Judge Merrick Garland’s history in depth. In 2000, he voted to rewrite the law and allow the Federal government to keep a registry of American gun owners for “audit” purposes. Even though the law explicitly prohibits a Federal registry of any kind, Garland voted in NRA v Reno that the law should have had exceptions written into it.
That’s not how the Constitution works. Judges are not allowed to add what they think the Congress should have included into the law…
Then, in 2007, Merrick Garland voted to rehear the case that ultimately was renamed Heller v DC. The lower court ruled in the case that Americans have an individual right to own a handgun under the 2nd Amendment. Garland was part of a radical minority on the DC Court of Appeals that voted to rehear and overturn the lower court ruling.
The Left has tried to claim that Garland never voted against the 2nd Amendment but the fact is that the only reason a Judge votes to rehear a case is to hopefully change the ruling.
This issue alone should disqualify him. But every day, more and more Republicans announce they are going to “hear him out.” When you hear that, they’re getting ready to do something unthinkable.
Agreeing to meet with Garland is no different than the GOP agreeing to meet with gun control advocates to discuss abolishing the 2nd Amendment. And that is what YOU need to make clear to them!
The magic number is 16. It takes sixteen Republicans to flip in order to ultimately confirm this leftist judge.
A week ago, you would have said that was impossible. Today, we are unfortunately halfway there.
We are halfway towards the GOP caving and approving a Liberal judge who will undo Justice Scalia’s crowning achievement.
They are counting on you not paying attention. They are counting on being able to surrender without you catching wind of it.
But now you know. Now you know that there is a plot to surrender the Supreme Court. With this knowledge comes an obligation and a responsibility to act!
