(Before It's News)

As if to prove Donald Trump isn’t the only Democrat to say really dumb stuff, Senator Bernie Sanders has given his take on why he hasn’t been able to crack Hillary Clinton’s lead.

Speaking to Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press”:

“Poor people don’t vote,” Sanders says on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday. “I mean, that’s just a fact.”

“That’s a sad reality of American society,” Sanders tells Chuck Todd, the show’s host. “And that’s what we have to transform. We have one, as you know, one of the lowest voter turnouts of any major country on Earth.”

I’m sure the fact that the Democrat contest is between an aged, future felon, with all the personal warmth and charm of a viper, and an addled, old Socialist has nothing to do with the low turnout.

Nope. It’s all those poor people that aren’t buying into the Utopian promise of “free stuff” that’s holding him back. They are, after all, the group he seems to be attempting to appeal to.

“If we can significantly increase voter turnout so that low income people and working people and young people participated in the political process, if we got a voter turnout of 75 percent, this country would be radically transformed,” Sanders says.

That may be what they’re afraid of. We’ve already had one Socialist promise to “radically transform” our nation. It hasn’t worked out very well for us.
